Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Temperature During Convective Drying of Thin Flat Wet Materials

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений и энергетических объединенний СНГ: Энергетика
. The basic laws of the kinetics of drying thin flat materials during the period of drop in the drying speed are outlined. A method for calculating the average integral temperature of wet material on the basis of the relative temperature coefficient of ...

Evaluation of in vitro toxicity of common phytochemicals included in weight loss supplements using 1H NMR spectroscopy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated the toxicity of 12 active compounds commonly found in herbal weight loss supplements (WLS) using human liver and colon cell models. Epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate was the only compound showing significant toxicity. Metabolic profiling revealed protein degradation, disrupted energy and lipid metabolism suggesting that the inclusion of EGCG ...

Osmotic Drying of Apricot (Prunus armeniaca) in Sucrose Solution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Osmotic drying is a process of partial removal of water by submersing fruits in sucrose solution. The goal of this paper is to examine kinetic features of osmotic drying of apricot halves in sucrose solution.

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Research on Calibration of Moisture Diffusion Coefficient for Wood Drying Based on Drying Simulation

open access: yes, 2023
Abstract When wood is dried below the fiber saturation point, moisture primarily undergoes non-steady-state diffusion. To establish a foundation for wood drying, this study employs the non-steady-state method. The moisture diffusion coefficient of birch wood was determined under specific experimental conditions, based on a drying reference ...

The effect of undrained heating on a fluid-saturated hardened cement paste [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The effect of undrained heating on volume change and induced pore pressure increase is an important point to properly understand the behaviour and evaluate the integrity of an oil well cement sheath submitted to rapid temperature changes.

Storyline description of Southern Hemisphere midlatitude circulation and precipitation response to greenhouse gas forcing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
As evidence of climate change strengthens, knowledge of its regional implications becomes an urgent need for decision making. Current understanding of regional precipitation changes is substantially limited by our understanding of the atmospheric ...

Discovery and Targeted Proteomic Studies Reveal Striatal Markers Validated for Huntington's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Clinical trials for Huntington's disease (HD) enrolling persons before clinical motor diagnosis (CMD) lack validated biomarkers. This study aimed to conduct an unbiased discovery analysis and a targeted examination of proteomic biomarkers scrutinized by clinical validation. Methods Cerebrospinal fluid was obtained from PREDICT‐HD and
