ABSTRACT Three models of the carrot drying process. were evaluated. Shrinkage during the dehydration of carrots has been found to be important. Neglecting shrinkage would produce an underestimation of the test particle moisture content. A uniform drying contraction model describes the carrot shrinkage satisfactorily.

The causes of dry eye include lacrimal gland insufficiency, meibomian gland dysfunction, impairment of the neuronal innervation and environmental stress - all leading to irritation of the ocular surface. Suitable drying model for infrared drying of carrot

Abstract In this study, infrared drying characteristic of carrot was investigated in the temperature range of 50–80 °C. The strong influence of drying temperature on drying rate at early stage of drying was evident. Drying rate almost doubled when the drying temperature was increased from 50 to 80 °C.

A model for Marangoni drying

We propose a simple theoretical model for the movement of a thin liquid film on a flat plate that is vertically withdrawn from a large liquid reservoir in the presence of a surface tension gradient. Dry friction plays an important role in the dynamic behaviour of mechanical systems. Mechanical systems can come to rest in a finite time due to the presence of dry friction. Moreover, dry friction is also responsible for stick-slip vibrations, which occur for instance in brakes, wheel-rail contact and bowed instruments such as violins.
