Dry high-speed machining: a cost effective and green process

International Journal of Manufacturing Research, 2012
Dry machining and Minimum Quantity Lubrication (MQL) machining are two emerging technologies that can help metal cutting industries produce desired parts at lower costs while reducing the negative effects of the lubricant on environment and on machine-tool operator’s health. The introduction of these technologies into the industry has been however very

High-speed droplet impingement on dry and wetted substrates

Physics of Fluids, 2020
High-speed droplet impact is of great interest to power generation and aerospace industries due to the accrued cost of maintenance in steam and gas turbines. The repetitive impacts of liquid droplets onto rotor blades, at high relative velocities, result in blade erosion, which is known as liquid impingement erosion (LIE).

Technological procedure of perforating as factor of drying speed

2002
The goals of this research were determined the effect of perforating the kernel on the speed of drying, and influence of dynamic burdening on mechanical injures unperforated and perforated corn kernel (Zea mays L.). The perforation of maize shell was carried out by means of a hedgehog a laboratory scale device.

Sustainable High Speed Dry Cutting of Magnesium Alloys

Materials Science Forum, 2012
Magnesium (Mg) components can significantly reduce energy use due to their low densities compared to the majority alloys. Mg alloys are often machined to fit individual cases. However, process mechanics by high-speed dry cutting of Mg alloys are poorly understood.

Individual variation in eating speed of dry sows.

Journal of animal science, 2016
We investigated the variation in eating speed by individual pregnant sows and the influence of feeding dry compared to wet feed. A total of 39 Norwegian Landrace × Yorkshire dry sows, 13 primiparous and 26 multiparous, were included in the experiment.

EFFECT OF DRYING TEMPERATURE AND AIR-SPEED ON HOP QUALITY

Journal of the Institute of Brewing, 1958
Experiments on hop drying were carried out at Wye College during 1952-54 in miniature electrically-operated experimental kilns, which on test gave dried samples comparable to those produced by a standard commercial kiln. Hand-picked Fuggle, Golding and Bullion hops were used.
