Intelligent Multicriteria DSSs

2000
The discussion of the basic MCDA concepts and approaches in chapter 2 demonstrated that the decision maker and his/her preferences constitute the focal point of interest within the MCDA methodological framework. This special characteristic of MCDA is in accordance with the decision making process in complex and ill-structured problem domains.

The role of the decision maker in DSSs and representation levels

Proceedings of the Twenty-Eighth Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, vol.3, 2002
We claim that the role of the decision maker in a DSS is to control a heuristic search. In this context, the models involved in a DSS naturally appear as evaluation functions driving the end-user control. This interpretation, which seems to be natural for P.

Evaluation of Security for DSSS Under Repeater Jamming

2007 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2007
Direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) technique has been widely used in both military communications and commercial communications. On the other hand, it is a challenge to both frequency surveillance and military counter measures. The normal jamming types, including broadband noise, partial-band noise and so on, are ineffective at the current jamming ...

Adaptive acquisition of PN sequences for DSSS communications

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1998
Since the received signal levels in mobile communications are unknown and the location is varying, acquisition schemes for pseudonoise (PN) sequences with fixed thresholds cannot provide satisfactory performance. This fixed-threshold scheme may cause too many false alarms or result in a low detection probability for a selected threshold value.

Feasibility Assessment of Repeater Jamming Technique for DSSS

2007 IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference, 2007
Direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) systems spread the baseband data signal over a broad bandwidth to achieve anti-jamming protection, which increase the difficulty of spectrum surveillance. The current jamming types, including broadband noise, partial-band noise and so on, are ineffective at the current jamming power level when the processing gain ...

Improving DSSS transmission security using Barker code along binary compliments (CBC12-DSSS)

2012 International Conference on Emerging Technologies, 2012
Direct sequence spread spectrum is one of the three fundamental techniques (other two are FHSS and THSS) of Spread Spectrum communication. In DSSS the digital information signal or user data is multiplied with a high-bit rate Barker code to spread the spectrum.

An eigenstructure technique for soft synchronization of DSSS signals

1996 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing Conference Proceedings, 2002
Soft synchronization of direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signals introduces the capability of despreading the signals with improving estimates of the spreading code. The technique presented here exploits the eigenstructure of a frequency-channelized DSSS signal to estimate the code.

A Consistency Checker for verifying the knowledge encoded into clinical DSSs

2012 25th IEEE International Symposium on Computer-Based Medical Systems (CBMS), 2012
The formalization and manipulation of complex and not yet assessed rules by clinicians are critical for Decision Support Systems (DSSs) performance in supporting remote monitoring of chronic patients. Sometimes, structural anomalies, such as inconsistency and redundancy, can occur.

Efficient DSSS burst synchronization methods

Proceedings of ISSSTA'95 International Symposium on Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications, 2002
This paper treats the synchronization of packetized (burst like) direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signals. Burst lengths up to 200 bits with binary phase shift keying (BPSK) modulation are considered. Under the condition of receive signal levels below the noise level this is a very critical enterprise as rapid burst detection and acquisition ...

A Knowledge-based Method for Verifying the Reliability of Clinical DSSs

2012 Eighth International Conference on Signal Image Technology and Internet Based Systems, 2012
Recently, the usage of innovative decision support systems (DSSs) for monitoring the subject's health status in the daily living is becoming a common practice to provide real aid in chronic patients' management. Rule-based implementations of such DSSs simulate the decision-making process described in clinical guidelines by also allowing new/existing ...
