L‐VISP: LSTM Visualization for Interpretable Symptom Prediction in Patient Cohorts
Computer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.L‐VISP is a human‐machine solution that uses visual analytics for LSTM modelling in clinical research. L‐VISP uses custom visual encodings to make multiple LSTM variants interpretable, supporting a full range of analysis, from understanding model operations and evaluating performance to interpreting results in a clinical context.C. Journal of Economic Surveys, EarlyView.ABSTRACT
This paper reviews how large‐scale mobility data can enhance economic analyses, highlighting its contributions to understanding travel behavior, labor markets, social interactions, and health outcomes. We discuss its advantages over traditional mobility data sources, which include real‐time location information and fine spatial resolution ...Cristina Connolly, Sandro Steinbach, Mike Vo, Xibo Wan +3 morewiley +1 more sourceDTW-MIC Coexpression Networks from Time-Course Data
PLOS ONE, 2016 When modeling coexpression networks from high-throughput time course data, Pearson Correlation Coefficient (PCC) is one of the most effective and popular similarity functions. However, its reliability is limited since it cannot capture non-linear interactions and time shifts.Riccadonna, Samantha, Jurman, G., Visintainer, R., Filosi, M., Furlanello, C. +4 moreopenaire +7 more sourcesA deep learning‐enabled toolkit for the 3D segmentation of ventricular cardiomyocytes
The Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.Abstract figure legend 3D cardiomyocyte segmentation enables comprehensive analyses of myocardial microstructure in health and disease; however, it is technically demanding. We present an open‐source toolkit for this task, which reduces challenges associated with sample preparation, image restoration, segmentation and proofreading.Joachim Greiner, Fabio Frangiamore, Frédéric Sonak, Josef Madl, Thomas Seidel, Peter Kohl, Eva A. Scientific Reports, 2021 Advances in measurement technology are producing increasingly time-resolved environmental exposure data. We aim to gain new insights into exposures and their potential health impacts by moving beyond simple summary statistics (e.g., means, maxima) to ...Kenan Li, Katherine Sward, Huiyu Deng, John Morrison, Rima Habre, Meredith Franklin, Yao-Yi Chiang, Jose Luis Ambite, John P. Anaesthesia, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 500-512, April 2026.Summary Introduction
The enhanced care model of peri‐operative care has evolved to meet increasing surgical demand, aiming to relieve pressure on critical care and prevent unnecessary cancellation of surgery. Despite widespread adoption of these facilities in the UK, no resources currently describe the national landscape of enhanced care or the ...Christopher Oddy, Dominic Lowcock, Thomas W. Afp+ Reprogrammed Cells for Liver Regeneration After Injury
Advanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 18, 27 March 2026.Donor‐derived tdTomato+ mature hepatocytes were FACS‐isolated and transplanted into Fah−/− host mice. During regeneration, these cells convert into proliferative, unipotent Afp+ rHeps. Their plasticity is governed by a PPARγ/AFP‐dependent metabolic switch, segregating into pro‐proliferative Afplow and pro‐survival Afphigh subpopulations.Ting Fang, Chao Yang, Hua Qiu, Yuan Du, Xicheng Wang, Yuting Li, Mingyang Xu, Changcheng Liu, Xiuhua Li, Na Guo, Jun Shi, Wencheng Zhang, Zhiying He +12 morewiley +1 more source
