Dual-beam interferometer for optical difference measurements
Applied Optics, 1984A dual-beam interferometer system is presented for performing reflectivity and absorption measurements in the 10–400-cm−1 far-infrared region. This system is designed for cryogenic applications intended for solid state spectroscopy. It consists of two coupled interferometers for optical difference measurements.

Design principles for a high pulse-up dual mode TWT employing dual electron beams are discussed. The tube employs a large hollow beam for CW mode operation and a reduced diameter, dense solid beam for the pulse mode. This scheme affords greater CW mode efficiency, reduced gain change between modes, and higher stability against backward wave oscillation
