A dual-beam Nasmyth spectrograph

Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1988
A recently-constructed double-beam spectrograph mounted on the Nasmyth focus of the Australian National University 2.3-m reflector is described. The spectrograph features two 150-mm collimator beams, with high throughput optics in each arm. Spectral resolutions range from 40 to 240 km s-1^.

Facility for simultaneous dual-beam ion implantation

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 2005
Abstract The dual implantation chamber (DIC) at Rossendorf Center for Application of Ion Beams in Materials Research allows materials to be implanted using two ion beams simultaneously. This facility is located at the 45 o cross point of two beam lines, one from a single-ended HVEE 500 kV ion implanter and the other from a HVEE 3 MV Tandetron ...

Dual-Beam Analog Beamforming for mmWave Communications

2019 IEEE 10th Annual Ubiquitous Computing, Electronics & Mobile Communication Conference (UEMCON), 2019
Conventional initial beam access schemes for millimeter wave systems suffer from high computational complexity and prolonged access times. Hence this paper proposes an efficient beam access algorithm based upon simultaneous dual-beam codebook transmission and beam coding.

Dual-beam interferometer for optical difference measurements

Applied Optics, 1984
A dual-beam interferometer system is presented for performing reflectivity and absorption measurements in the 10–400-cm−1 far-infrared region. This system is designed for cryogenic applications intended for solid state spectroscopy. It consists of two coupled interferometers for optical difference measurements.

Broadband laser enhanced dual-beam interferometry

Optics Letters, 2012
We demonstrate a dual-beam, balanced detector approach, compatible with commercial Fourier transform infrared spectrometers that provide a single modulated output. Implemented with a near-IR mode-locked fiber laser source and an external broadband polarizing beamsplitter, the dual-beam method provides relative intensity noise reduction and real-time ...

Dual-beam subpicosecond broadband infrared spectrometer

Optics Letters, 1994
A method for obtaining broadband multichannel IR spectra with subpicosecond time resolution is described. Spectrally broad IR pulses, produced by difference-frequency mixing of two visible pulses in LiIO3, are split to make signal and reference pulses.

First observations with the UMass dual-beam InSAR

IGARSS 2003. 2003 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37477), 2004
A dual-beam along-track interferometric synthetic aperture radar which is self contained within an aircraft pod has been developed to study coastal regions. System hardware is described. Initial test flights aboard the NOAA WP-3D research aircraft were performed to evaluate system performance over land and water surfaces.

Slit-lamp dual-beam interferometer

SPIE Proceedings, 1994
A modified slit lamp is described which makes axial eye length measurements with optical interferometry available to the clinic. A separate partial coherence Doppler interferometer is coupled to the slit lamp optics by a monomode fiber and a slit lamp attachment.

Dual-beam filtering patch antennas

2018 International Workshop on Antenna Technology (iWAT), 2018
This paper describes a design methodology for five dual-beam filtering patch antennas and their applications to ultra-wideband (UWB) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system. Structures of the five dual-beam filtering patch antennas are the same, but their sizes are different for covering different operation band.

An absolute dual beam emission spectrometer

Fourier Transform Spectroscopy: New Methods and Applications, 1999
Astronomical spectroscopy at submillimetre wavelengths holds much promise for fields as diverse as the study of planetary atmospheres, molecular clouds and extragalactic sources.
