pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Single VDCC-Based Mixed-Mode First-Order Universal Filter and Applications in Bio-Signal Processing Systems

open access: yesTechnologies
This paper presents a compact mixed-mode first-order universal filter based on a single voltage differencing current conveyor (VDCC), which can function in all four possible operation modes, i.e., voltage mode (VM), trans-admittance mode (TAM), current ...

Phase controlled superconducting proximity effect probed by tunneling spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Using a dual-mode STM-AFM microscope operating below 50mK we measured the Local Density of States (LDoS) along small normal wires connected at both ends to superconductors with different phases.

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Les étudiants préfèrent Facebook

open access: yesDistances et Médiations des Savoirs, 2014
This paper presents the results of a study of the methods of learning and the use of technologies by Quebec university students, which shows that they are little attracted by distance learning and online learning. Hypothesizing that their perceptions may

The first operation and results of the Chung-Li VHF radar [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
The Chung-Li Very High Frequency (VHF) radar is used in the dual-mode operations, applying Doppler beam-swinging as well as the spaced-antenna-drift method. The design of the VHF radar is examined.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
