Dual-Mode Wound Rotor Synchronous Machine for Variable Speed Applications

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This paper presents a novel dual-mode wound rotor synchronous machine (DWRSM) for variable speed applications. The proposed machine combines the advantages of both the conventional wound rotor synchronous machine (CWRSM) and the brushless wound rotor ...

Frame Coalescing in Dual-Mode EEE

open access: yesCoRR, 2015
The IEEE has recently released the 802.3bj standard that defines two different low power operating modes for high speed Energy Efficient Ethernet physical interfaces (PHYs) working at 40 and 100 Gb/s. In this paper, we propose the use of the well-known frame coalescing algorithm to manage them and provide an analytical model to evaluate the influence ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Design of a Dual-Mode SIW Bandpass Filter With Multi-Transmission Zeros

open access: yesIEEE Access
In the paper, a method for cascading two dual-mode substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) filters by loading slots is proposed, resulting in two pairs of transmission zeros (TZs) observable on both sides of the passband.

Design of Dual-Mode Local Oscillators Using CMOS Technology for Motion Detection Sensors

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Recently, studies have been actively carried out to implement motion detecting sensors by applying radar techniques. Doppler radar or frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar are mainly used, but each type has drawbacks.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Dual-Mode Index Modulation Aided OFDM [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
Index modulation has become a promising technique in the context of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), whereby the specific activation of the frequency domain subcarriers is used for implicitly conveying extra information, hence improving the achievable throughput at a given bit error ratio (BER) performance.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Dual-mode operation of a neutron source, a concept [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
Pulsed neutron source operates in conjunction with a photomultiplier tube coupled to a gamma ray scintillation crystal. This allows measurements of gamma radiation from both inelastic scattering and thermal neutron capture in a single ...
