Dual-Mode Resonator for Simultaneous Permittivity and Thickness Measurement of Dielectrics

open access: yesIEEE Sensors Journal, 2020
This paper presents a microwave sensor for simultaneous measurement of permittivity and thickness in dielectric materials. The sensor is made of a dual-mode magnetic- LC resonator coupled to a microstrip transmission line. Due to a dual-mode resonance of

Dual-Mode Tunable Loop Resonator with Stub

Radioelectronics and Communications Systems, 2022
The analysis results of a dual-mode loop resonator with a stub tunable by two variable capacitors are presented. It was established for the first time that, contrary to the existing idea, such resonators have not only dual-mode oscillations, but also single-mode oscillations, and these oscillations alternate with each other. The resonant frequencies of

Quasi-dual-mode resonators

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2000
This paper discusses the concept of using two single-mode resonators to construct a quasi-dual-mode resonator that has all the features of traditional dual-mode resonators. Two novel filter structures are presented in this paper that employ this concept; one employs planar-type resonators and the other employs dielectric resonators. A new configuration

Dual-mode helical resonators

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2000
High performance and compact size are the most important criteria in filter-based products for satellite communication systems. Succeeding the superconducting and dielectric resonators, the conventional single-mode helical resonator ranks favorably on its high unloaded-Q per volume.

Defected Ground Dual-Mode Resonators and Filters

2007 IEEE 18th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2007
A microstrip defected ground structure dual mode filter is presented. Several methods for coupling between the dual modes are investigated. Defected ground structure is used to enhance the external coupling and to introduce the necessary perturbation to the initially symmetrical structure.

Dual-Mode TE01?Dielectric Resonator

29th European Microwave Conference, 1999, 1999
A new dielectric resonator (DR) consisting of two orthogonal hollow dielectric cylinders, is presented. The structure supports a pair of degenerate modes each having a field pattern very similar to the TE01δ supported by a cylindrical DR. Measurement of the unloaded Q-value indicates a performance similar to that of single cylindrical DR, with a ratio ...

Microwave resonators with dual-mode oscillations

Radioelectronics and Communications Systems, 2012
Analysis of microwave resonators with dual-mode oscillations is conducted. A new type of resonators is discovered in which dual-node oscillations are observed. It represents a half-wave resonator with a short-circuit in the middle part. The length of such a resonator is twice less than the length of a widely used ring resonator.

Dual-mode filters with conductor loaded dielectric resonators

1999 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest (Cat. No.99CH36282), 1999
In this paper, a new class of dual-mode microwave filters is presented. These devices use conductor-loaded dielectric resonators with unloaded Q-factors of 2000-8000 achievable in half the physical size of TEM filters and with good spurious performance.

Analysis of Dual-mode Resonators from Transmission Line Segments

Radioelectronics and Communications Systems, 2022
Three groups of resonance equations for various resonators on transmission lines (TL) with lumped elements are proposed. They are based on a two-port network parameters. Using these equations, it is established that a third of all resonant frequencies in the known dual-mode stub resonators analyzed using even and odd modes, were not previously taken ...

Dual-Mode Resonators for DTCXO and OCXO

2006 Multiconference on Electronics and Photonics, 2006
This article contains the information about the investigation of activity dips of planoconvex resonators for dual-mode crystal oscillators. It is proved, that the reason is acoustic interaction between the inharmonic components of C-mode with a high index and the B-mode. Conditions of existence of interfering vibration are determined.
