Dual-Mode Resonant Flyback Single Power-Conversion Inverter
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2021This article presents a dual-mode resonant flyback single power-conversion inverter with reduced number of power components. Unlike conventional flyback converters, it transfers power in a resonant manner during the first half of the switching period and in a linear way during the remaining half of the switching period.

A novel dual-mode bandpass filter with wide stopband using the properties of microstrip open-loop resonator [PDF]
A novel dual-mode microstrip square loop resonator is proposed using the slow-wave and dispersion features of the microstrip slow-wave open-loop resonator.

Elliptical cavity resonators for dual-mode narrowband filters
1997 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 1997A novel cavity resonator with elliptical cross-section is proposed in order to realize dual-mode narrowband filters without tuning and coupling elements. No discontinuities are required inside the cavities hence significantly enhancing the unloaded Q, the ability to operate with higher power levels, and the ease of manufacturing.

New dual-mode dielectric resonator filters
IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2005The paper presents a new design of dual-mode dielectric-loaded rectangular cavity filters. The response of the filter is mainly controlled by the location and orientation of the coupling apertures with no intra-cavity coupling. Each dual-mode dielectric-loaded cavity generates and controls one transmission zero which can be placed on either side of the

A microstrip diplexer based on dual-mode resonators
Technical Physics Letters, 2012A miniature third-order microstrip diplexer comprising a traditional T-shaped dual-mode resonator at the input and one dual-mode resonator of original design, with regular strip conductors split from one end, at the output of each channel. The passband formation in each channel of the diplexer involves two resonances of the lowest modes of one split ...

EBG-based dual mode resonator filter
IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2004Periodic etched pattern on the ground plane underneath the ring resonator are incorporated to realize a miniaturized ring filter with stronger rejection of higher harmonic passbands. Two square microstrip ring filters, with and without periodic etched pattern on the ground plane, were designed with a bandwidth of 135 MHz centered at 2.4 GHz and 3 GHz ...

Dual mode resonant capacitive MEMS accelerometer
2016 IEEE International Symposium on Inertial Sensors and Systems, 2016This paper reports the design, fabrication and characterization of a dual mode resonant capacitive MEMS accelerometer. The sensor consists of electrically coupled micro resonators and a proof mass. The applied acceleration causes displacement of the proof mass which changes the electrostatic gap between the proof mass and the sensing electrodes.

Novel dual-mode double-band filter on dielectric resonators
2015 IEEE International Black Sea Conference on Communications and Networking (BlackSeaCom), 2015In the paper a challenging problem of dual-band filter design on rectangular dielectric resonators (DRs) with no additional coupling elements or complication of DR shape has been researched. The possibility of operating on both higher TE 02δ oscillation mode ensuring greater values of unloaded Q-factor and the lower one TE 01δ has been investigated ...

Mobius dual-mode resonators and bandpass filters
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2000It is shown that a topological surface known as the Mobius strip has applications to electromagnetic resonators and filters. Using identical rectangles to construct a cylindrical loop and a Mobius strip results in the path length of the edge of the Mobius strip being twice the path length of an edge of the cylindrical loop.

Dual mode operation of a helical resonator discharge
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1994Measurements of the resonance characteristics of a helical resonator plasma generator over a wide range of frequencies and gas pressures are described. It was found that, analogous to an inductive discharge, it can operate both in a capacitive and an inductive mode.
