Bibliometric Analysis of Dual Mobility Total Hip Arthroplasty. [PDF]

open access: yesHip Pelvis
For end stage arthritis of the hip joint, total hip arthroplasty (THA) is the treatment of choice. Dual mobility (DM) liner is an implant designed to provide enhanced stability. Long-term effects and implant survivability remain areas of active research despite modern advancements in increased jump distance and dislocation reductions.

Memory-full context-aware predictive mobility management in dual connectivity 5G networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Network densification with small cell deployment is being considered as one of the dominant themes in the fifth generation (5G) cellular system. Despite the capacity gains, such deployment scenarios raise several challenges from mobility management ...

Surgical Management of Bilateral Trapeziometacarpal Arthritis: Suspension Arthroplasty and Dual Mobility Prosthesis in the Same Patient, Treated at the Same Time

open access: yesSurgeries
Background: Trapeziometacarpal osteoarthritis (TMC OA) is a prevalent degenerative disorder that causes considerable pain and functional limitations, especially in older individuals, whose ideal treatment is still debated in the literature.

Cementation of a Metal Dual Mobility Liner in Patients Undergoing Revision Total Hip Arthroplasty

open access: yesArthroplasty Today, 2023
Background: Dual mobility liners for primary and revision total hip arthroplasties can lead to decreased dislocation and revision rates. However, there are a lack of data analyzing their utilization when cementing into well-fixed acetabular components in

Dual mobility cups in total hip arthroplasty

open access: yesWorld Journal of Orthopedics, 2014
Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is considered one of the most successful surgical procedures in orthopaedics. With the increase in the number of THAs performed in the world in the next decades, reducing or preventing medical and mechanical complications such as post-operative THA instability will be of paramount importance, particularly in an emerging ...

Evaluating the effectiveness of conventional prostheses against dual-mobility prostheses in the treatment of femoral neck fractures in two separate groups of patients: A clinical trial study

open access: yesAdvanced Biomedical Research, 2023
Background: Femoral neck fracture is a common posttraumatic injury in the elderly. Currently, orthopedic surgeons conducting total hip arthroplasty (THA) for hip fractures have various prosthetic alternatives. Dual-mobility cup THA is recommended for hip

Dual-mobility socket in challenging total hip arthroplasty : 2-6 years follow-up. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The success of dual-mobility sockets in achieving implant stability in primary hip replacement is already well established. However, stability cannot always be achieved, especially when dealing with more difficult indications.

Nearest neighbor tight binding models with an exact mobility edge in one dimension

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate localization properties in a family of deterministic (i.e. no disorder) nearest neighbor tight binding models with quasiperiodic onsite modulation. We prove that this family is self-dual under a generalized duality transformation. The self-

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
