Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Classical linear vector optimization duality revisited

open access: yes, 2010
With this note we bring again into attention a vector dual problem neglected by the contributions who have recently announced the successful healing of the trouble encountered by the classical duals to the classical linear vector optimization problem ...

On the Formal Solution of Dual Integral Equations [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1967
ff-functions as kernels. The result obtained is in fact an extension ofthe result given quite recently by Fox [3, p. 395]. The importance ofthe result established lies in the fact that the solution of dual integralequations involving general Meijer's G-functions and nearly all thespecial functions occurring in Applied Mathematics can be derivedas ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Minimax Solutions of the Dual Hamilton-Jacobi Equation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Analysis, 2003
In this paper, the existence and continuous dependence of a kind of minimax solution to the dual Hamilton-Jacobi equations is proved. The main difficulties, which appear here is a special type of the boundary conditions and the transversality conditions which that solution must satisfy. That type of problems comes from optimal control and game theory.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
