Gene Expression Shifts in Emperor Penguin Adaptation to the Extreme Antarctic Environment
ABSTRACT Gene expression can accelerate ecological divergence by rapidly tweaking the response of an organism to novel environments, with more divergent environments exerting stronger selection and supposedly, requiring faster adaptive responses. Organisms adapted to extreme environments provide ideal systems to test this hypothesis, particularly when ...

Seasonal fine‐scale resource selection of elk in the central Appalachian Mountains
Resource selection by animals varies depending on spatial and temporal context, thus it is important to account for these factors when conducting studies that examine this behavior relative to the availability and distribution of resources. Many resource selection studies combine fine‐scale animal location data obtained using global positioning system (

Abstract We model the radiative forcing (RF) of stratospheric sulfate aerosols (SAs) and water vapor (WV) clouds generated by the explosive eruption of the Hunga volcano on 15 January 2022, using the WRF‐Chem meteorology‐chemistry model. We inject 150 Mt of WV and 0.45 Mt of SO2 at a height of 35 km.

Tables, Memorized Semirings and Applications
We define and construct a new data structure, the tables, this structure generalizes the (finite) $k$-sets sets of Eilenberg \cite{Ei}, it is versatile (one can vary the letters, the words and the coefficients).

Modeling the early stages of a user-centered process in architectural design through adaptation of the methodologies of New Product Design [PDF]
In order to reach a degree of quality in architectural buildings that is likely to lead to user satisfaction, architectural design relies on integrating user-related information even before generation of building concepts.

A multipurpose Hopf deformation of the Algebra of Feynman-like Diagrams
We construct a three parameter deformation of the Hopf algebra $\mathbf{LDIAG}$. This new algebra is a true Hopf deformation which reduces to $\mathbf{LDIAG}$ on one hand and to $\mathbf{MQSym}$ on the other, relating $\mathbf{LDIAG}$ to other Hopf ...
