Duplex Steels Used in Building Structures and Their Resistance to Chloride Corrosion [PDF]
Welded structures made of duplex steels are used in building applications due to their resistance to local corrosion attack initiated by chlorides. In this paper, the material and technological factors determining the corrosion resistance are discussed in detail.

Network Simplification in Half-Duplex: Building on Submodularity [PDF]
This paper explores the {\it network simplification} problem in the context of Gaussian Half-Duplex (HD) diamond networks. Specifically, given an $N$-relay diamond network, this problem seeks to derive fundamental guarantees on the capacity of the best $k$-relay subnetwork, as a function of the full network capacity.

The Himalaya is a natural laboratory for studying mountain-building processes. Concepts of extrusion and duplexing have been proposed to dominate most phases of Himalayan evolution. Here, we examine the importance of these mechanisms for the evolution of the Himalayan crystalline core via an integrated investigation across the northern Kathmandu Nappe.

Feasibility of Using Lightweight Load-Bearing Panel Systems in Duplex Apartments of Tall Buildings [PDF]
As an inevitable result of the growing population in recent times, the requirements of housing facilities, land scarcity, and overexploitation of natural resources have created many problems. One solution for the lack of land is to have multi-storey apartment buildings.

Bulge-out structures in the single-stranded trimer AUA and in the duplex (CUGGUGCGG).(CCGCCCAG). A model-building and NMR study [PDF]
Model-building studies were carried out on the trimer AUA. Bulge-out structures which allow incorporation into a continuous RNA helix were generated and energy-minimized. All geometrical features obtained by previous NMR studies on purine-pyrimidine-purine sequences are accounted for in these models.

Extrusion vs. duplexing models of Himalayan mountain building 2: The South Tibet detachment at the Dadeldhura klippe [PDF]
Abstract Himalayan mountain building has been dominantly explained by two types of models: extrusion and duplexing. To elucidate possible roles of these mechanisms during emplacement of the Himalayan crystalline core, we investigate an area speculated to contain the southern leading edge of the crystalline core: the northeastern margin of the ...
