Utilizing CPM/PERT Cost Function and Earned Value System in Monitoring and Controlling Building Projects (A Case Study of Recently Completed 5-Bedroom Detached Duplex at G.R.A, Maiduguri)

open access: yes, 2017
This paper x-rays the use of Critical Path Method-Project Evaluation Review Technique (CPM/PERT) cost function and Earned value system in monitoring and controlling civil and building engineering projects. The system culminates in the progressive generation of the CPI-SPI graphical contour which guides the project team in tracking projects.

Optimization of SWCNT‐FET Biosensors by Aptamer Engineering and Toehold‐Mediated Strand Displacement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Aptamer‐based single‐walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) field‐effect transistor (FET) biosensors are developed for label‐free, real‐time biomarker detection. Truncated DNA aptamers enhance sensitivity through improved conformational switching. A toehold‐mediated strand displacement (TMSD) strategy optimizes functionalization and simplifies fabrication. The

Self-assembly of bi-functional patchy particles with anisotropic shape into polymers chains: theory and simulations

open access: yes, 2011
Concentrated solutions of short blunt-ended DNA duplexes, down to 6 base pairs, are known to order into the nematic liquid crystal phase. This self-assembly is due to the stacking interactions between the duplex terminals that promotes their aggregation ...

SERRATE Regulates Floral Meristem Activity by Antagonizing SHOOT MERISTEMLESS and Repressing Cytokinin Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Floral meristem (FM) activity is crucial for the initiation of floral organs. In this study, SE represses IPT7 expression and cytokinin signaling via both the miR171c‐5p–KNAT2 and miR164c–CUC1/2–KNAT2 regulatory modules, thereby repressing FM activity. In contrast, STM induces both KNAT2 and IPT7 expression.

BNB/NBN‐Phenalenyl‐2'‐deoxyuridines as a Fluorophore–Quencher Pair in DNA

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Two BN‐chromophore‐extended nucleosides containing electronically complementary BNB‐ and NBN‐doped phenalenyls were synthesised and incorporated into deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) oligonucleotides. These chromophores act as an efficient fluorophore–quencher pair under aqueous conditions.
