Extra thymidine stacks into the d(CTGGTGCGG).d(CCGCCCAG) duplex. An NMR and modelbuilding study [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1988
NMR and model-building studies were carried out on the duplex d(CTGGTGCGG).d(CCGCCCAG), referred to as (9+8)-mer, which contains an unpaired thymidine residue. Resonances of the base and of several sugar protons of the (9+8)-mer were assigned by means of a NOESY experiment.

Exploring the Impact of Rice Husk Ash Masonry Blocks on Building Energy Performance

open access: yesBuildings
Operational building energy consumption accounts for 55% of global energy consumption. Most of this is attributed to residential buildings, as they make up the largest building type when compared to the total building stock worldwide.

Experimental study on the preparation of ferrophosphorus alloy using dephosphorization furnace slag by carbothermic reduction

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes, 2022
With the development of the duplex converter process, the amount of dephosphorization furnace slag is increasing, and it has relatively low basicity. It has been indicated that the recovery of valuable elements from dephosphorization slag by carbothermic

Fiber-Extended Copper Line Architecture With End-to-End Data Transmission and Link Monitoring

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
We demonstrate a prototype hybrid, full duplex fiber-extended copper line with frequency-reusability and simultaneous fiber and copper line monitoring. The link architecture is composed of three main units: a central office; a remote-node copper to fiber

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.
