Experimental study on the preparation of ferrophosphorus alloy using dephosphorization furnace slag by carbothermic reduction

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes, 2022
With the development of the duplex converter process, the amount of dephosphorization furnace slag is increasing, and it has relatively low basicity. It has been indicated that the recovery of valuable elements from dephosphorization slag by carbothermic

Full-Duplex MIMO Small-Cell Networks: Performance Analysis

open access: yes, 2015
Full-duplex small-cell relays with multiple antennas constitute a core element of the envisioned 5G network architecture. In this paper, we use stochastic geometry to analyze the performance of wireless networks with full-duplex multiple-antenna small ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces Between the Reality and Imagination

open access: yesWasit Journal of Computer and Mathematics Science
One interesting idea that could improve wireless communication systems is reconfigurable intelligent surfaces or RIS. To control the spread of wireless signals, RIS uses a plethora of tiny, inexpensive, and customizable reflecting devices.

Hardware Impairments Aware Transceiver Design for Bidirectional Full-Duplex MIMO OFDM Systems

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper we address the linear precoding and decoding design problem for a bidirectional orthogonal frequencydivision multiplexing (OFDM) communication system, between two multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) full-duplex (FD) nodes.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Improving Resource Efficiency with Partial Resource Muting for Future Wireless Networks

open access: yes, 2018
We propose novel resource allocation algorithms that have the objective of finding a good tradeoff between resource reuse and interference avoidance in wireless networks. To this end, we first study properties of functions that relate the resource budget

Small RNA pathways in mammalian oocytes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Three distinct small RNA pathways operate in mammalian oocytes: RNAi interference (RNAi), the microRNA (miRNA) pathway, and the PIWI‐associated RNA (piRNA) pathway. These pathways use small RNAs to guide sequence‐specific repression and contribute to oocyte biology by targeting genes and mobile elements or appear insignificant since different ...
