Data on the daily electricity load profile and solar photovoltaic (PV) system components for residential buildings in Lagos, Nigeria

open access: yesData in Brief, 2020
This article contains the average daily electric load profile (for 24 h of the day) for the five categories of residential buildings (duplex, single family bungalow, traditional court yard, flat/apartment dwelling and ‘face-me-I-face-you’) in three Local

Fiber-Extended Copper Line Architecture With End-to-End Data Transmission and Link Monitoring

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
We demonstrate a prototype hybrid, full duplex fiber-extended copper line with frequency-reusability and simultaneous fiber and copper line monitoring. The link architecture is composed of three main units: a central office; a remote-node copper to fiber

Rationalising sequence selection by ligand assemblies in the DNA minor groove : the case for thiazotropsin A [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
DNA-sequence and structure dependence on the formation of minor groove complexes at 5′-XCTAGY-3′ by the short lexitropsin thiazotropsin A are explored based on NMR spectroscopy, isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), circular dichroism (CD) and ...

Influence of an Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere on Diamond‐Single‐Grain Scratching of Ti–6Al–4V

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Single‐grain scratching of Ti–6Al–4V is investigated under controlled, oxygen‐free, and ambient atmospheres using a novel experimental setup with in situ high‐speed imaging. The approach enables direct observation of chip formation and adhesion under suppressed oxidation.

Directed laser deposition of super duplex stainless steel: Microstructure, texture evolution, and mechanical properties

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
Microstructure and texture evolution of directed-laser deposited super-duplex stainless-steel, in the as-received block, were characterized using light and electron microscopies and electron backscattered diffraction.

Half-Duplex or Full-Duplex Relaying: A Capacity Analysis under Self-Interference

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper multi-antenna half-duplex and full-duplex relaying are compared from the perspective of achievable rates. Full-duplexing operation requires additional resources at the relay such as antennas and RF chains for self-interference cancellation.

Time‐Dependent Oxidation and Scale Evolution of a Wrought Co/Ni‐Based Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows how a new wrought Co/Ni‐based superalloy resists oxidation at 800 ∘$^\circ$C. The oxide scale changes from rough, fast‐growing spinel to a dense, protective chromia–alumina layer. Atom probe analysis reveals tiny refractory‐rich bubbles at the interface that mark the transition to long‐term, diffusion‐controlled protection ...

Influence of perylenediimide–pyrene supramolecular interactions on the stability of DNA-based hybrids: Importance of electrostatic complementarity

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014
Aromatic π–π stacking interactions are ubiquitous in nature, medicinal chemistry and materials sciences. They play a crucial role in the stacking of nucleobases, thus stabilising the DNA double helix.

Selective and Precise Editing of Digital Polymers Through Parallel or Series Toehold‐Mediated Strand Displacement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A sequence‐encoded supramolecular construct containing two accessible toeholds is developed herein for enabling multiple editing operations. By introducing specific input strands, it is possible to selectively erase or rewrite digital content through parallel or series toehold‐mediated strand displacement (PTMSD or STMSD).
