Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Functional characterization of human NDR kinases : novel regulatory mechanisms and a path towards direct substrates [PDF]
Protein kinases are important regulators of signal transduction pathways in both unicellular and multicellular organisms. They play critical roles in biological processes such as cell growth, division, differentiation, adhesion, motility and cell death ...

Copy number variants (CNVs) create a major source of variation among individuals and populations. Array-based comparative genomic hybridisation (aCGH) is a powerful method used to detect and compare the copy numbers of DNA sequences at high resolution ...

Towards more biological mutation operators in gene regulation studies [PDF]
Genetic regulation is often viewed as a complex system whose properties emerge from the interaction of regulatory genes. One major paradigm for studying the complex dynamics of gene regulation uses directed graphs to explore structure, behaviour and ...

Genetic analyses of 15 species of yeast have shed new light on the divergence of gene regulation during evolution, with significant changes occurring after an event in which a whole genome was duplicated.

Glyphosate resistance and EPSPS gene duplication: convergent evolution in multiple plant species
One of the increasingly widespread mechanisms of resistance to the herbicide glyphosate is copy number variation (CNV) of the 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS) gene.

Over 70 intragenic copy-number variations (CNVs) of PHEX have been identified in patients with X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH). However, the underlying mechanism of these CNVs has been poorly investigated.

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.
