Duplication of Key Frames of Video Streams in Wireless Networks

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper technological solutions for improving the quality of video transfer along wireless networks are investigated. Tools have been developed to allow packets to be duplicated with key frames data.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The numerical duplication of a numerical semigroup

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we present and study the numerical duplication of a numerical semigroup, a construction that, starting with a numerical semigroup $S$ and a semigroup ideal $E\subseteq S$, produces a new numerical semigroup, denoted by $S\Join^b\E$ (where ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Properties of chains of prime ideals in an amalgamated algebra along an ideal

open access: yes, 2010
Let $f:A \to B$ be a ring homomorphism and let $J$ be an ideal of $B$. In this paper, we study the amalgamation of $A$ with $B$ along $J$ with respect to $f$ (denoted by ${A\Join^fJ}$), a construction that provides a general frame for studying the ...

Anal canal duplication in an 11-year-old-child [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Anal canal duplication (ACD) is the least frequent digestive duplication. Symptoms are often absent but tend to increase with age. Recognition is, however, important as almost half of the patients with ACD have concomitant malformations.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Gene divergence of homeologous regions associated with a major seed protein content QTL in soybean

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2013
Understanding several modes of duplication contributing on the present genome structure is getting an attention because it could be related to numerous agronomically important traits.

Symptomatic duplicated gall bladder – A rare presentation with a review of the literature

open access: yesJournal of Medical Evidence, 2020
Gallbladder duplication is a rare congenital anomaly. Knowledge of its various types is important since it can complicate cholecystectomy. Many varieties of gall bladder duplication and its classification are reported in the literature.
