Strongfield durum wheat (Triticum turgidum L. var durum) is adapted to the durum production area of the southern Canadian prairies. It combines high yield, high grain protein concentration, and low grain cadmium concentration. Strongfield has shorter, stronger straw than Kyle, and has similar maturity and disease resistance to other currently ...

Chromosome structure of durum wheat
Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1990Meiotic pairing was analyzed at metaphase I in ABRR triticale × rye hybrids to identify the arm homoeology of chromosomes ofTriticum turgidum. Wheat chromosomes were identified using a C-banding technique. Results confirmed that the homoeologous relationships between chromosome arms of the A and B genomes inT. turgidum are the same as inT.

Plenty durum wheat (Triticum turgidum L.) is a high-yielding, moderately late durum wheat that is eligible for the top grades of amber durum wheat. It has moderately tall, strong straw and is well-adapted to the drier areas of durum production. It is similar to other durum cultivars in disease resistance.

Medora durum wheat (Triticum turgidum L.) was developed at the Agriculture Canada Research Station, Winnipeg from the cross Ward/Macoun. It is a medium short, strong-strawed cultivar, well adapted across the Prairie Provinces. Medora is resistant to prevalent races of leaf and stem rust, and bunt; it has excellent pasta-making quality.Key words ...

Aiuminium tolerance of durum wheat germplasm [PDF]
Aluminium tolerance of Macedonian durum wheat (Triticum turgidum L. conv. durum (Desf.) MacKey) germplasm was evaluated in nutrient solutions containing 0, 74 or 148 µ M of total A1. Relative root length (148 µ M A1/O A1) of various genotypes ranged from 41 to 72% (from moderately sensitive to moderately tolerant to A1).
