Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Directional sensitivity of differential pressure sensors of gas velocity used in manual gravimetric measurements of dust emissions from stationary sources / Czułość kierunkowa różnicowo-ciśnieniowych czujników prędkości gazu stosowanych w manualnych pomiarach grawimetrycznych emisji zanieczyszczeń pyłowych ze źródeł stacjonarnych

open access: yesArchives of Environmental Protection, 2015

Interstellar Dust in the Solar System: Model versus In-Situ Spacecraft Data

open access: yes, 2019
In the early 1990s, contemporary interstellar dust penetrating deep into the heliosphere was identified with the in-situ dust detector on board the Ulysses spacecraft.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

A combination of PD-1 and TIGIT immune checkpoint inhibitors elicits a strong anti-tumour response in mesothelioma

open access: yesJournal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research
Background Finding effective and curative treatment for mesothelioma remains challenging. While the introduction of immunotherapy combinations using ipilimumab (anti-CTLA-4) and nivolumab (anti-PD-1) have offered hope for some patients, a large ...

Basic characteristics of mine dust suppression foam and the quantitative evaluation method of its performance

open access: yesMeitan xuebao, 2023
The priority direction of mine dust control is to suppress dust generation and flying at the source. Foam, a gas-liquid two-phase medium, has some unique advantages of large dust covering area, strong adhesion ability and fast wetting of dust.

Modelling dust processing and the evolution of grain sizes in the ISM using the method of moments

open access: yes, 2016
Interstellar dust grains do not have a single well-defined origin. Stars are demonstrably dust producers, but also efficient destroyers of cosmic dust. Dust destruction in the ISM is believed to be the result of SN shocks hitting the ambient ISM gas (and
