Redundancy‐Based Seismic Safety Evaluation of Seismically Isolated Buildings
JAPAN ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW, Volume 9, Issue 1, January–December 2026.Seismically isolated buildings exhibit low redundancy, with damage progressing rapidly once the superstructure's response exceeds a critical threshold. This study formulates the relationship between the Ds value and ductility factor of the superstructure, enabling quantitative evaluation of quasi‐brittle behavior.

Two nonlinear gains based on the configurable hyperbolic functions are used. SFS algorithm is employed to calibrate controller gains optimally.
