An FFT core for DVB-T2 receivers

2009 16th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems - (ICECS 2009), 2009
This paper presents the design and implementation of a pipeline radix-25 SDF FFT core for DVB-T2 receivers. DVB-T2 operation needs 1K/2K/4K/8K/16K/32K multiple mode FFT processors. The radix-25 SDF architecture is a new and more efficient architecture, which has been optimized for implementing a multiple mode core.

DVB-T2 in Oman: Trial results

IEEE international Symposium on Broadband Multimedia Systems and Broadcasting, 2012
In the Sultanate of Oman, analog to digital switchover process is started. The Sultanate decided to adopt second generation of terrestrial digital video broadcasting (DVB-T2) standard. Recently, the Sultanate is having trial transmission for the system. The trial is taking place in three regions, Muscat, Barka, and Salalah.

On correlation-based synchronization for DVB-T2

IEEE Communications Letters, 2010
The transmission format of the new digital video broadcasting standard DVB-T2 provides a block of samples (the P1 symbol) to ease initial signal acquisition and synchronization. In this paper we revise a synchronization technique based on the correlation of parts of the received signal and we show that it fails to synchronize in practical channel ...

Analysis of ICI compensation for DVB-T2

2010 7th International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems, 2010
This paper analyzes the impact of inter-carrier interference (ICI) compensation on the physical layer of DVB-T2, the new digital terrestrial television standard. We compare the performance of a well-known low complexity soft demapper for different time-interleaving depths and code rates in several realistic mobile scenarios. This paper further presents

Coexistence of DVB-T2 and LTE in the 800 MHz Band: Analysis of DVB-T2 System Configurations

2018 IEEE International Symposium on Broadband Multimedia Systems and Broadcasting (BMSB), 2018
During the last World Radiocommunication Conference it was decided that the upper frequency parts of UHF bands (700 MHz and 800 MHz) shall be released for mobile services, provided by Long Term Evolution (LTE) system. This decision has caused coexistence issues between the 2nd generation digital terrestrial video broadcasting (DVB-T2) and the LTE ...

DVB-T2 channel filters

2016 11th International Forum on Strategic Technology (IFOST), 2016
Paper states circuit and constructive solutions for high-power channel elliptic filters applied in DVB-T2 digital video broadcasting systems. The method of finding coupling windows sizes based on the pass-band lumped equivalent circuit and electrodynamical simulation is proposed.

HbbTV application for DVB-T2

2013 21st Telecommunications Forum Telfor (TELFOR), 2013
The purpose of this paper is to present an approach to enable the overview of Internet content via digital terrestrial TV. The chosen content will be transmitted over a DVBT/ DVB-T2 broadcast network to the receiver (Set-top-box) and it will be displayed on TV screens.

New transmitter identification mechanism for DVB-T2

2017 IEEE International Symposium on Broadband Multimedia Systems and Broadcasting (BMSB), 2017
In the DVB-T2 digital terrestrial television standard a transmitter signature can be included in order to provide a unique identification to each of the transmitters in the network. This feature is optional and it can be exploited for many other applications.

Empirical DVB-T2 Thresholds for Fixed Reception

IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, 2013
This paper provides minimum C/N values for correct reception of DVB-T2 signals under fixed reception conditions. The C/N values are obtained after analyzing the results of field and laboratory trials. The field measurements were taken in a middle-sized city, along 33 locations, with MFN and SFN configurations.

Results of the DVB-T2 Field Trial in Germany

IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, 2015
The second generation digital video broadcasting system for terrestrial broadcasting (DVB-T2) was designed using a toolbox concept. Compared with its predecessor DVB-T, the new standard introduces many new algorithms and allows for a more flexible parameter configuration.
