Estimation of Genetic Variance and Breeding Values for Infectious Disease Susceptibility From Simulated Longitudinal Data Using Generalized Linear Mixed Models Based on Transmission Dynamics

open access: yesJournal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Volume 143, Issue 5, Page 639-657, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Recent theoretical work shows that the potential of genetic selection to reduce the prevalence of infectious diseases is much larger than expected from classical quantitative genetic theory, due to indirect genetic effects that arise in the transmission process. However, to fully benefit from these indirect effects, we need to estimate genetic

Elevated Serum Soluble CD163 Indicates Macrophage Activation: A Potential Biomarker for Inflammation in Complex Regional Pain Syndrome?

open access: yesPain Practice, Volume 26, Issue 7, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Several studies point towards the involvement of the immune system (especially the monocyte–macrophage system) in the pathophysiology of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), as shown by increased levels of the cytokines tumor necrosis factor (TNF)‐α and interleukin (IL)‐6.

Nitrogen‐Fixing Woody Plants Sequester More Soil Mineral‐Associated Carbon and Lose Less Particulate Carbon Than Herbs Post Vegetation Restoration

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, Volume 37, Issue 14, Page 10232-10245, 30 August 2026.
ABSTRACT Dividing soil organic carbon (SOC) into particulate (POC) and mineral‐associated organic carbon (MAOC) is crucial for understanding the formation, persistence, and functions of soil carbon. However, current understanding of the dynamics of new and old carbon in POC and MAOC following vegetation restoration remains unclear.

Learning Networks Drive Environmental Innovation: Evidence From Fourth‐Stage Purification Diffusion

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, Volume 36, Issue 4, Page 961-973, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Contaminants of emerging concern, including pharmaceuticals and industrial chemicals, threaten water quality globally. In the European Union (EU), until the adoption of the revised Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive in 2024, a regulatory gap had left the member states and the municipalities in them without binding removal standards ...

Iron Salts, but Not Iron Oxide Nanoparticles, Drive High‐Yield Production of Iron‐Engineered Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2026.
Soluble iron, but not iron oxide nanoparticles, is efficiently routed into extracellular vesicles (EVs) through physiological cargo‐sorting pathways. Prolonged ferric salt incubation combined with turbulence‐based hydrodynamic stimulation drives massive EV secretion and near‐complete intracellular iron transfer via ferritin.

Molecular mechanisms of asphaltene adsorption inhibition via interfacial thermodynamics and surface roughness control using green nanocomposite

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology
The precipitation and deposition of asphaltenes in oil reservoirs severely impair production efficiency by reducing permeability and clogging pore networks. Developing effective, environmentally sustainable inhibition strategies is therefore critical for

Biogeography of Bursaphelenchus Species Driven by Climate, Vectors and Hosts: Implications for Forest Pathology Under Climate Change

open access: yesForest Pathology, Volume 56, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Wood‐inhabiting nematodes of the genus Bursaphelenchus are a group with significant ecological and economic impacts on global forest ecosystems. This review aims to update current knowledge on their spatial distribution, host‐vector associations and the factors driving species expansion under the framework of climate change.

Dwa źródła usprawiedliwienia

open access: yesPaedagogia Christiana, 2015
Artykuł dotyczy jednej z kluczowych doktryn chrześcijaństwa – usprawiedliwienia, która w okresie nowożytnym stało się teologicznym powodem podziału Kościoła na Zachodzie.

First Attempt to Estimate a Joint Distribution for Income and Wealth Within the Distributional National Accounts Framework

open access: yesReview of Income and Wealth, Volume 72, Issue 3, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Over recent years, there have been several projects to include distributional aspects in the national accounts' framework. Household distributional information will also be covered in the 2025 SNA. Additionally, increasing emphasis has been placed on covering all material aspects of welfare at the macro as well as micro level in the same macro
