Summary Stomatal closure prevents significant water losses during drought events. Yet, leaves are not perfectly hermetic and dehydration ensues through residual water losses, known as minimum conductance (gmin), which is highly relevant since it informs on the water depletion dynamics under stress.

A Review of the Applications and Challenges of Pulsed Electric Fields in Fish Ecological Protection
ABSTRACT The use of pulsed electric fields (PEF) to regulate fish swimming patterns, especially during migratory channel restoration in dammed rivers, faces significant operational challenges. These challenges can generally be attributed to the multifaceted nature of fish behaviour and limitations in research on physical interception methods.

On prediction errors in regression models with nonstationary regressors
In this article asymptotic expressions for the final prediction error (FPE) and the accumulated prediction error (APE) of the least squares predictor are obtained in regression models with nonstationary regressors. It is shown that the term of order $1/n$

Patterns of River Flow Regulation Across the World's Climate Regions
We quantify the Impoundment Ratio (IR) for 16 060 dams worldwide to assess how reservoir capacity relative to natural runoff varies across climate regions. One‐third of dams have IR ≥ 1, with the highest values in arid and semi‐arid zones and clear national contrasts within similar climates.

Vector Field‐Based Collision‐Free Navigation in Tunnel‐Like Environments
ABSTRACT Tunnel‐like environments, renowned for their vast scale, confined spaces, and limited visibility, present significant challenges for autonomous robot navigation. This study addresses the critical issue of guiding robots through such environments while ensuring collision‐free navigation and maintaining a specified safety margin from both tunnel

A green nanocomposite suppresses asphaltene precipitation in carbonates via multiscale evaluation
Asphaltene precipitation in carbonate reservoirs presents a significant flow assurance challenge. This study investigates a novel ZnO/SiO₂/xanthan/eucalyptus nanocomposite (NCs) for inhibiting asphaltene deposition.

Algebra of screening operators for the deformed $W_n$ algebra
We construct a family of intertwining operators (screening operators) between various Fock space modules over the deformed $W_n$ algebra. They are given as integrals involving a product of screening currents and elliptic theta functions.

ABSTRACT Fish migration through river networks is essential for completing life cycles and accessing critical habitats, but fragmentation increasingly disrupts spawning movements. In Europe, over one million barriers limit connectivity and create trade‐offs between ecological integrity and human uses, such as hydropower, flood control, fisheries and ...
