Are Local Group Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxies the First Safe Planet-hosting Environments?
We explore whether Local Group dwarf spheroidal (dSph) galaxies might have hosted Earth-like planets dwelling unexposed for several billions of years to major galactic threats to life, such as supernovae and gamma-ray bursts.

Recent results from numerical simulations and models of galaxy formation suggest that recently discovered ultrafaint compact stellar systems (UFCSs) in the halo of the Milky Way (MW) may be some of the smallest and faintest galaxies. If this is the case,

We review numerical works carried out over the last decade on the role of environmental mechanisms in shaping nature of the faintest galaxies known, dwarf spheroidals (dSphs). The combination of tidally induced morphological transformation, termed tidal

WFPC2 Observations of the Carina Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxy.
We present our analysis of Hubble Space Telescope Wide Field Planetary Camera 2 observations in F555W (~V) and F814W (~I) of the Carina dwarf spheroidal galaxy. The resulting V vs (V-I) color-magnitude diagrams reach V ~ 27.1 mag. The reddening of Carina is estimated to be E(V-I) = 0.08 +- 0.02 mag.

A Census of Dwarf Galaxy Satellites around LMC-mass Galaxy NGC 2403
We present the first comprehensive census of the satellite population around a Large Magellanic Cloud stellar-mass galaxy, as part of the Magellanic Analog Dwarf Companions and Stellar Halos (MADCASH) survey. We have surveyed NGC 2403 ( D = 3.0 Mpc) with
