VIGOUR MECHANISMS IN DWARFING ROOTSTOCKS FOR TEMPERATE FRUIT TREES
Acta Horticulturae, 2004Dwarfing rootstocks have been widely used in the culture of apple and pear trees for a very long time. However, there is till almost no understanding of the plant mechanisms responsible for the dwarfing effect on the scion. The article first considers how the dwarfing effect is manifested in the scion’s growth.

Relationship of Dwarfing and Hybrid Wheat Mechanisms1
Crop Science, 1976The effects of dwarfing genes on the fertility of hybrid wheat (Triticum aestivum L. em Thell) were studied in 36 topcrosses. Three spring wheat cultivars with pollen fertility restorer genes for Triticum timopheevi cytoplasm were crossed with 12 near‐isogenic height lines of the spring wheat cultivars ‘INIA 66’ and ‘Norteno 67.’ The 36 F1,'s were used

Barley yellow dwarf viruses: infection mechanisms and breeding strategies
Euphytica, 2017Barley yellow dwarf virus infection (BYDV) often results in substantial yield losses in susceptible cereal crops. Major symptoms of BYDV infection in cereals include plant dwarfing and colour changes of leaf blades along the vascular bundles, especially of leaf tips.

Use of gibberellic acid in facilitating the mechanical harvesting of dwarf beans
Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1961AbstractThe application of dilute aqueous solutions of the potassium salt of gibberellic acid to dwarf beans at the onset of flowering has given an experimental approach to the possibilities for the mechanical harvesting of the crop.

Studies of the Mechanism of Prevention of Immunologic Deficiency in Suckling Dwarf Mice
1971The pituitary dwarf mouse has been used as a model of study of immunologic deficiency disease. Endocrinological studies (l) of dwarf mice of the Snell-Bagg strain have demonstrated absence of pituitary acidophils, lack of growth hormone and decreased thyrotropic hormone and prolactin.
