For a full simulation of DWDM-components like arrayed-waveguide-gratings a combination of BPM/FEM and analytical models is used. We show modelling results for transmission characteristics with emphasis on insertion loss, bandwidth and crosstalk and give a comparison with experimental results.

Monolithically integrated DWDM receiver
IEE Proceedings J Optoelectronics, 1993A grating spectrometer integrated monolithically in the InGaAsP system with a photodiode array for a dense WDM system is presented for the 1.5 μm wavelength region. The chip provides more than 30 wavelength channels with a spacing of 4 nm, a channel crosstalk of approximately −15 dB, an internal photodiode efficiency of 90% and a photodiode capacitance

Time-domain optical Fourier transformation for OTDM-DWDM and DWDM-OTDM conversion
2011 International Conference on Information Photonics and Optical Communications, 2011Applications of time-domain optical Fourier transformation (OFT) in ultra-high-speed optical time-division multiplexed systems (OTDM) are reviewed, with emphasis on the recent demonstrations of OFT-based conversion between the OTDM and DWDM formats.

DWDM core transport technology
14th Annual International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications, 2005. WOCC 2005, 2005Summary form only given. Dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) transmission systems have been used in commercial networks to transport massive data over long distances. The majority of the backbone DWDM systems that are deployed today are point-to-point with limited reach and capacity.

DWDM Channel Spacing Effects on the Signal Quality for DWDM/CWDM FTTx Network
Journal of Optical Communications, 2019Abstract In this paper, two models of fiber-to-the-x (FTTx) networks are provided, one of hybrid dense wavelength division multiplexing/coarse wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM/CWDM) with high subscriber’s allocated bandwidth, and the other of hybrid ultra-dense wavelength division multiplexing/coarse wavelength division ...

32Tb/s DWDM Transmission System
SPIE Proceedings, 2009We successfully generated 114-Gb/s PDM-8QAM optical signal by novel scheme. Intradyne coherent detection of PDM-8QAM optical signal with robust blind polarization de-multiplexing has been demonstrated by using a new cascaded multi-modulus equalization algorithm.

DWDM Optical line-side interoperability
Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2012Line-side interoperability of colored 100G transponders in DWDM systems between two different vendors will become a reality in the near future. With modern modulation formats (phase, polarization and post processing) and existing standards, optical interface technologies can deliver reliable transmission over more than 600km. That is the sweet spot for
