ABSTRACT Aim In Japan, only synthetic progestins were available for menopausal hormone therapy until 2021. Since then, micronized progesterone has become available. Micronized progesterone binds to gamma‐aminobutyric acid type A receptors and exerts sedative and hypnotic effects.
