A Fluorescent Dye Method for Foliar Penetration Studies
Weeds, 1959lish the location of the penetrant on the cellular level. Histochemical techniques have been employed with great success by Knight et al. (10), Rohrbaugh (14), Rice and Rohrbaugh (13), and others to demonstrate the sites of entry and routes of movement of oils.

Dye Penetrant Techniques for Flaw Detection
Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1964FLAW detection processes utilizing dye penetrants are now extensively used throughout the aircraft industry. They are a logical development of the lard oil and chalk method popular in the early days, a system which is still occasionally used for economic reasons and where only the more obvious flaws are of significance. Briefly, this method consists of

Fluorescent dye penetrants applied to rock fractures
International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences & Geomechanics Abstracts, 1968Abstract Under ultraviolet illumination, non-particulate fluorescent dye penetrants clearly mark the surface traces of fractures in minerals and rocks. The use of fluorescent penetrants has been effective in studying the development of fractures in rock specimens deformed in the laboratory.

Fully Automated Dye-Penetrant Inspection of Automotive Parts
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1998<div class="htmlview paragraph">Dye penetrant, as a method for nondestructive testing, all too often is considered as lacking the elegance of other popular NDT techniques such as the ultrasonic and eddy current inspection methods. In spite of the fact that dye penetrant inspection is still an every day industrial work horse, it just doesn't seem ...

Percutaneous Penetration Following Use of Hair Dyes
Archives of Dermatology, 1977To the Editor.— Maibach et al1reported in theArchivesthat thin-layer chromatography (TLC) of urine samples from four of eight subjects, which were taken one to four days after they had dyed their hair with one of two commercially distributed, semipermanent hair dyes, disclosed a purple spot. The spot, which was unidentified, was the same with both dye

Percutaneous Penetration Following Use of Hair Dyes
Archives of Dermatology, 1975• We assess the percutaneous penetration potential of two commercially distributed semipermanent hair dyes. Utilizing several solvent systems in conjunction with thin-layer chromatography (TLC), we found that the commercial formulations contained at least nine component chemicals.

28—A PENETRATION TEST FOR RESISTANCE TO PRESSURE DYEING
Journal of the Textile Institute Transactions, 1958An apparatus simulating the conditions set up during pressure dyeing is described. The fibres to be tested are cut to short staple, opened and blown to random state and allowed to form a bed inside a specially designed penetration chamber. A specific hydrostatic pressure (5.lb/sq. in.) is maintained by a mercury safety valve giving constant head.

Application of Ultrasound in Fluorescent Dye Penetrant Inspection
2003It has been shown that enhanced penetration of fluorescent liquid into microcracks due t ultrasonic capillary effect improves the quality of testing and creates the basis for the development of new penetrants. Maximal effect of ultrasound on penetration of liquids into microcracks is achieved at vibration amplitude of the radiating surface in the range
