Penetration of Dyes Into Protein Crystals [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section F, Structural Biology Communications, 2019
Experiments were carried out on 15 different protein crystals with the objective of estimating the rates of penetration of dye molecules into the crystals. The dyes were in the molecular-weight range 250–1000 Da and the protein crystals were of dimensions of 0.7 mm or greater.

Bacterial and Dye Penetration Through Interim Restorations Used During Endodontic Treatment of Molar Teeth

open access: yesJournal of Endodontics, 2009
Introduction: The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between dye and bacterial penetration through interim restorations used during endodontic treatment.

Percutaneous Penetration of Hair Dyes

Archives of Dermatological Research, 1985
Scalp penetration of 7 hair dyes (oxidative and direct) that occurs under conditions of hair dye usage was evaluated for both rhesus monkey and man using 14C labeled materials by quantifying their absorbtion via urine assays. Both species showed a remarkably similar pattern of dye penetration.

Reliability of Assessing Dye Penetration Along Root Canal Fillings Using Methylene Blue

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, 2009
Methylene blue (MB) remains the most frequently used tracer for dye penetration tests of endodontic fillings, despite its chemical reactions with different materials. This study checked whether dye penetration displayed by MB is comparable to Rhodamine B

Tubular Sclerosis Rather Than the Smear Layer Impedes Dye Penetration Into the Dentine of Endodontically Instrumented Root Canals

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, 2006
AIM: To evaluate the effect of different root canal irrigating regimes on dentine penetration of Patent Blue dye. METHODOLOGY: Eighty extracted single-rooted human mandibular premolar teeth with narrow root canals were prepared using ProFile instruments.

Reliability of the Dye Penetration Studies

Journal of Endodontics, 2003
The purpose of this study was to compare the classical dye-penetration method to a dye-extraction method, with a fluid-filtration method as control. Forty teeth were prepared with a ProFile device and divided into four groups (n = 10 per group) according to the sealer used for the lateral condensation: Pulp Canal Sealer, Sealapex, AH Plus, and Ketac ...

CONTRAST DYE PENETRANT INSPECTION

2017
Detection of discontinuities such as cracks, laps, porosity, cold shuts, lack of bond, and similar defects. Because inspection can be performed in normal light, this method can be used when fluorescent penetrant inspection is impracticable.

A dye penetration study of retrofilling materials

Journal of Endodontics, 1989
The apical sealing ability of amalgam, cold-burnished gutta-percha, amalgam with cavity varnish, and SuperEBA cement was evaluated in extracted human teeth. For each experimental group, the roots of 20 single-rooted teeth were sectioned from their crowns.

The usefulness of dye-penetration studies reexamined

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1989
An in vitro study to determine the usefulness of dye-penetration studies was conducted. In part I, teeth were prepared through the foramen and then left open, either apically, coronally, or at both ends. In all cases, the dye did not penetrate the full length of the canal.
