Correlation Between Clinical Success and Apical Dye Penetration

International Endodontic Journal, 2001
AbstractAimThis study was undertaken to examine whether a correlation exists between apical dye penetration and the clinical performance of root fillings.MethodologyApical dye penetration into 116 roots of human teeth that had been root‐filled at least 6 months prior to extraction was tested in vitro using a vacuum technique and by measuring the length

Percutaneous Penetration/Dermal Absorption of Hair Dyes in Vitro

Toxicology in Vitro, 2001
This paper presents an in vitro technique to analyse percutaneous penetration and dermal absorption of hair dyes, topically applied to excised pig skin. Representative examples are given by the radio-labelled hair dyes p-phenylenediamine and bis-(5-amino-1-hydroxyphenyl)-methane.

Stimulation of intradentinal dye penetration by feeding in the rat

Archives of Oral Biology, 1993
Dentinal fluid movement, as measured by intradentinal dye penetration (IDDP), may be under the control of an endocrine system that includes the parotid glands. It was earlier demonstrated that parotid hormone stimulates IDDP when infused into rats, and in the pig the onset of feeding signals the release into the circulation of immunoreactive parotid ...

Penetration of Cationic Dyes into Acrylic Fibers

Textile Research Journal, 1965
The penetration of cationic dyes into acrylic fibers has been studied by microscopic observation of fiher cross sections. The rate of penetration was found to increase with increasing fiber annealing temperature, site content, temperature and (high) acetic acid content of the bath, as well as with decreasing load.

Seam penetration in the dyeing of garments using reactive dyes. Part 2: Evaluation of the effect of processing conditions on the efficacy of seam penetration in the dyeing of cotton with reactive dyes†

Coloration Technology, 2004
In a previous report, the development of an instrumental method for the quantitative assessment of seam penetration by reactive dyes was described. This paper now reports the use of this instrumental protocol to evaluate the effect of processing variables, especially temperature, pH and dye concentration, on the efficacy of seam penetration in the ...

Studies on the Influence of Power Ultrasound on Dye Penetration in Leather Dyeing Using Photomicrographic Analysis

Journal of Microscopy, 2005
SummaryThe use of power ultrasound in enhancing diffusion rate in various chemical as well as physical processes is gaining in importance. The influence of power ultrasound in the leather dyeing process on enhancing the penetration of dye through the leather matrix was studied.

Penetration Pathways of Fluorescent Dyes in Human Hair Fibres Investigated by Scanning Near-Field Optical Microscopy

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, 2000
Thin cross-sections of human hairs were investigated by scanning near-field optical microscopy (SNOM) and confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) after penetration of a fluorescent dye. The same samples were measured with both techniques to compare the

Entrapped air and its effects on dye penetration of voids

Dental Traumatology, 1991
Abstract This study was conducted to determine the effect of entrapped air on the ability of methylene blue dye to penetrate known and measurable voids. Thirty six capillary tubes were sealed at one end and had standardized voids created within the lumen.

The effect of dietary factors on intradentinal dye penetration in the rat

Archives of Oral Biology, 1992
Fluorescent dye injected systemically into rats penetrated the dentinal tubules of molar teeth in a dynamic fashion. The presence of dye was established using histological and fluorescence microscopy techniques. The rate of intradentinal dye penetration was dependent on dietary factors: it was high in rats chronically fed Purina rat chow and low in ...
