Vibration Analysis and Design of Dynamic Absorber in a Vertical Drilling Machine [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Design and Manufacturing Technology, 2009
One of the main factors in poor performance of machine tools is undesirable vibrations. Unbalancing in rotary elements of machine tools cause induced vibration in machine head that influences on precision of processing material.

Design of a Real-Time Adaptively Tuned Dynamic Vibration Absorber with a Variable Stiffness Property Using Magnetorheological Elastomer

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2015
An elastomer composite with controllable stiffness, known as a magnetorheological elastomer (MRE), is used in a dynamic vibration absorber whose natural frequency is tuned adaptively to the disturbance frequency through the application of an external ...

A Study on the Design Model of Passive Tunable Damped Boring Bar [PDF]

open access: yes한국정밀공학회지, 2017
Boring depth is limited by the overhang on which the vibration frequency depends. To improve the process, a passive boring bar with dynamic vibration absorber has been used, but is effective only for a limited length of overhangs.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Study on suppressing of stick-slip using dynamic vibration absorber

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2019
This study discussed design criteria for suppressing stick-slip using dynamic vibration absorber. First, a simplified analytical model that can quantify the effect of the dynamic vibration absorber on the occurrence and nonoccurrence conditions of stick ...

Energy Harvesting Dynamic Vibration Absorbers

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mechanics, 2013
Energy harvesting is a promise to harvest unwanted vibrations from a host structure. Similarly, a dynamic vibration absorber is proved to be a very simple and effective vibration suppression device, with many practical implementations in civil and mechanical engineering. This paper analyzes the prospect of using a vibration absorber for possible energy

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Studies of the Response of the Prototype CMS Hadron Calorimeter, Including Magnetic Field Effects, to Pion, Electron, and Muon Beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We report on the response of a prototype CMS hadron calorimeter module to charged particle beams of pions, muons, and electrons with momenta up to 375 GeV/c. The data were taken at the H2 and H4 beamlines at CERN in 1995 and 1996.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...
