Lyapunov’s type inequalities for hybrid fractional differential equations
We investigate new results about Lyapunov-type inequalities by considering hybrid fractional boundary value problems. We give necessary conditions for the existence of nontrivial solutions for a class of hybrid boundary value problems involving Riemann ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Comparison of Dynamic Data Analysis Methods for Thermal Property Measurement of a Building Wall [PDF]
Energy usage in heating and air-conditioning a building is influenced by several factors. Among them is the building wall, whose production is affected by the planning, design and construction process.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Towards the microfoundations of finance and growth
We take a critical view of the standard approach to finance and growth. The mapping between the theory and empirics is shown to be poorly understood, and this is traced to deficiencies in our understanding of the microeconomics at play.

Edge-based smoothed extended finite element method for dynamic fracture analysis
In this paper, the edge-based smoothed extended finite element method (ES-XFEM) is applied to the dynamic fracture analysis of two-dimensional elastic solids.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

TIMER: A web server for comprehensive analysis of tumor-infiltrating immune cells
Recent clinical successes of cancer immunotherapy necessitate the investigation of the interaction between malignant cells and the host immune system. However, elucidation of complex tumor-immune interactions presents major computational and experimental
