Dynamical behavior of boron clusters

Nanoscale, 2016
Several of the lowest energy structures of small and medium sized boron clusters are two-dimensional systems made up of a pair of concentric rings. In some cases, the barriers to the rotation of one of those rings relative to the other are remarkably low.

On the dynamic behavior of a hydraulic cylinder

Proceedings of the 39th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.00CH37187), 2002
We are interested in the stability properties of a hydraulic cylinder when no control is applied.

Study of the dynamic behavior of RALPHY

Proceedings of 1993 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS '93), 2002
The authors propose a control/command scheme for the quadruped robot RALPHY (French acronym for legged robot with pneumatic actuators) which takes into account both dynamical and real time aspects as well as theoretical and practical approaches. They decompose the dynamic model for the whole robot into two parts in order to distribute hierarchically ...

Dynamical behavior of fractal structures

Physical Review B, 1985
We present a scaling theory for the vibrational properties of tenuous fractal objects and a numerical calculation of the density of states for percolation clusters and diffusion-limited aggregates. A microscopic elastic Hamiltonian is used, which contains bending energy terms and properly describes the elasticity of such structures.

Chaotic Behavior and Fluid Dynamics

1981
It is shown that while fluids are very complicated systems having many degrees of freedom, the basic mechanism underlying the observed chaotic behavior of fluid turbulence may not require the consideration of many degrees of freedom. Simple dynamical systems display erratic and chaotic behavior reminiscent of turbulence, the key to which is the ...

On The Dynamic Behavior of Prices in Disequilibrium

The Journal of Finance, 1980
SATISFIED AS WE MAY BE with the overall efficiency of the market system and with the tenets of the perfect market model, we all viscerally know that were we down on the market floor we would certainly react to a multitude of apparent price discrepancies.

Dynamic behavior of a recursive sequence

Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2004
The authors study the behavior of solutions of the difference equation (\(*\)) \(x_{n+1}=\alpha-x_{n-1}/x_n\) (\(n=0,1,2,\dots\)), where \(\alpha\in{\mathbb R}\) is a given number. According to the value of \(\alpha\) and the initial conditions, the authors show that the negative equilibrium point \(\bar x:=\alpha-1\) is globally asymptotically stable (

Dynamics of Self-Injurious Behaviors

American Journal on Mental Retardation, 1999
Self-injurious behavior was examined in a case study of head-banging by an 8-year-old girl with profound mental retardation and an autistic disorder. Trajectories of the arm movements and impact forces of the head blows were determined from a dynamic analysis of videotapes. Results revealed a high degree of cycle-to-cycle consistency in the qualitative

Dynamic Behavior in Diplatinum Metalloreceptors

Inorganic Chemistry, 2002
Diplatinum metalloreceptors anti-4a and anti-4b exhibit dynamic behavior in solution that is modified by anion binding. An X-ray crystal structure determination of anti-4a supports its proposed solution structure.

Taming the dynamic behavior of JavaScript

Proceedings of the companion publication of the 2014 ACM SIGPLAN conference on Systems, Programming, and Applications: Software for Humanity - SPLASH '14, 2014
JavaScript is widely used in Web applications because of its flexibility and dynamic characteristics. However, the latter (e.g., runtime code generation and dynamic object behavior) pose challenges for program understanding, security, etc. We have designed the JavaScript Blended Analysis Framework, a program analysis framework that combines dynamic and
