In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

An Investigation of the Effect of the Fault Degree on the Dynamic Characteristics and Crack Propagation of Rolling Bearings

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The incipient faults of rolling bearings are dynamically propagating in the service status. However, the bearing material and the size of the fault will affect its expansion trend and direction. Furthermore, bearings manufactured from different materials

Field Research on the Wind-Induced Response of a Super High-Rise Building under Typhoon

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
This paper simultaneously measures the characteristics of wind on the roof and the acceleration responses of the 10th, 18th, 25th, 32nd and 41st floors of a high-rise building in Wenzhou during the passing of typhoons between 2014 and 2016.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Characterizing the topology dynamics in mobile ad hoc networks:modeling and analyzing techniques using the queuing theory

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2011
A new modeling parameter named link broken rate(LBR) was proposed so as to characterize the topology dy-namics.On the basis of the definition of the network dynamic characteristics parameter LBR,the expectations of the time interval between the links ...

Systemic Optimization of Electric Vehicles Power System

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal
This paper presents a comparative study between two permanent magnet motor structures, one with trapezoidal waveforms and the other with sinusoidal waveforms, from the perspective of production cost, dynamic characteristic performance, and energy economy.

Incommensurability and spin excitations of diagonal stripes in cuprates

open access: yes, 2009
Based on the time-dependent Gutzwiller approximation we study the possibility that the diagonal incommensurate spin scattering in strongly underdoped lanthanum cuprates originates from antiferromagnetic domain walls (stripes).

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Dynamic transition and resonance in current-driven arrays of Josephson junctions

open access: yes, 2002
We consider a two-dimensional fully frustrated Josephson-junction array, which is driven uniformly by oscillating currents. As the temperature is lowered, there emerges a dynamic phase transition to an ordered state with nonzero dynamic order parameter ...
