Human Foetal Neuroblasts Exhibit BK Channel‐Dependent Membrane Voltage Oscillations upon Depolarization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Primary cultures of neuroblasts isolated from the nucleus basalis of Meynert of 12‐weeks‐old human foetuses were prepared. Whole‐cell patch‐clamp recordings were performed by injecting a depolarizing stimulus current (+500 pA; 500 ms), and the membrane voltage recorded; this stimulus current evoked periodic‐like oscillations in membrane voltage ...

Targeting the KCNC3‐Dependent Anterior Insular‐Lateral Orbitofrontal Cortex Glutamatergic Circuit Attenuates Post‐Traumatic Anxiety

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Frontal lobe traumatic brain injury is associated with hyperactivity of an insular–orbitofrontal circuit in both patients and mice. By combination of integrating functional imaging, cell‐type–specific circuit manipulation, single‐cell transcriptomics, and whole‐cell recordings, this work identifies the downregulation of the potassium channel KCNC3 in ...

Miro1 Protects Against Acute Kidney Injury Through Modulating Mitochondrial Homeostasis via Interaction With Sirt6

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ischemia‐reperfusion reduces Sirt6 activity, thereby increasing Miro1 acetylation. Hyperacetylated Miro1 exhibits perinuclear distribution and degradation, thereby inducing mitochondrial dysfunction and promoting apoptosis in renal tubular epithelial cells. This pathway reveals a mechanistic link between Sirt6‐mediated deacetylation and Miro1 stability

The Natural Product Corramycin Acts as a DNA Gyrase Poison and Overcomes Fluoroquinolone Resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Corramycin, a myxobacterial natural product antibiotic, exhibits potent bactericidal activity against multidrug‐resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The compound hijacks bacterial transporters such as BacA and OppABCD to enter the cell and inhibits DNA synthesis through a previously unrecognized mode of DNA gyrase poisoning, locking the enzyme in an ...

Flexoelectric Suppression of Interfacial Carrier Loss in BaTiO3 Thin‐Film Bulk Photovoltaic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In single‐crystalline BaTiO3 thin films, flexoelectric strain gradients strongly enhance photocurrent by suppressing interfacial carrier loss. Loading experiments reveal a ∼35‐fold photocurrent increase with applied force. Self‐consistent electrostatic modeling shows that strain gradients reshape the interfacial potential landscape, strengthen local ...

Loss of SHP1 in Spinal Astrocytes Triggers T‐Lymphocyte Infiltration and Nociceptive Hypersensitivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Astrocyte‐specific SHP1 deletion disrupts astrocyte–vascular interactions and compromises BBB integrity while enhancing STAT1‐dependent CXCL10 expression. These changes synergistically promote peripheral CD4+ and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration into the SDH. The infiltrating T cells secrete IFN‐γ, which in turn activates microglia.

Sustained Self‐Powered Real‐Time Vibration Monitoring Through Integrated Nonlinear Harvesting and Energy‐Aware Wireless Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A self‐powered vibration sensing platform integrates a quasi‐zero‐stiffness piezoelectric harvester, synchronized electric charge extraction, energy management, and wireless ADC acquisition. Ambient vibration is simultaneously harvested as energy and digitized as information, enabling sustained real‐time waveform monitoring without external power.

Developing Soft Interconnected Microchannel Network for 2D Skin‐Like Actuator

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A soft interconnected network of microchannels is proposed to develop new pneumatic actuators for future bio‐inspired soft robots. Simultaneous stimulation of this network generates regional asymmetric strains in walls of microchannels whose interaction across the entire surface leads to bending curvatures in multidimensions.

Dynamics of immersed clamped-clamped microresonators

2010 IEEE Sensors, 2010
Micro- and nanomechanical resonators are used in a variety of sensing applications. We investigate the dynamics of clamped-clamped micromechanical string resonators immersed in viscous fluids. The resonators are driven using a magneto-motive technique and an optical lever is used to detect their motion.
