Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Disturbances in H+ dynamics during environmental carcinogenesis
Despite the improvement of diagnostic methods and anticancer therapeutics, the human population is still facing an increasing incidence of several types of cancers. According to the World Health Organization, this growing trend would be partly linked to our environment, with around 20% of cancers stemming from exposure to environmental contaminants ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

On the dynamics of monsoon disturbances
The dynamics of the disturbances due to the instabilities of horizontally and vertically shearing mean monsoon flow have been studied. The necessary conditions for internal jet instability are satisfied, and a barotropic-baroclinic instability analysis of the observed zonal flow has shown that the fastest growing modes are mainly due to the barotropic ...

Disturbance Decoupling in Dynamic Games [PDF]
A theory for disturbance decoupling problems has been well developed in the area of geometric control theory. The aim of the present study is to introduce disturbance decoupling problems in a dynamic game context. For this purpose, techniques from geometric control theory are applied.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
