Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Numerical Exploration of Thermal Shock Resistance in MgO–C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A mesostructure‐resolved numerical framework is developed to evaluate the thermal shock resistance of MgO–C refractories. By modeling interface debonding under rapid temperature changes and introducing a modified thermal shock parameter that accounts for mesocracks, the study shows how graphite content and aggregate size influence thermal shock ...

Factors Influencing Measurement of Dynamic Elastic Modulus from Disk-Shaped Concrete Specimen

open access: yesInternational Journal of Concrete Structures and Materials
The decrease in dynamic elastic modulus is a primary indicator of quantitative damage in concrete. To quantitatively assess depth-by-depth damage within a concrete structure, cylindrical specimens obtained through coring can be cut into disk specimens to

Dynamic mechanical properties of structural anisotropic coal under low and medium strain rates.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
The static mechanical properties of coal rock show anisotropism, which makes the permeability have anisotropic characteristics partly. The dynamic impact mechanical characteristics of structural anisotropic coal under low and medium strain rates were ...

Defects and glassy dynamics in solid He-4: Perspectives and current status

open access: yes, 2012
We review the anomalous behavior of solid He-4 at low temperatures with particular attention to the role of structural defects present in solid. The discussion centers around the possible role of two level systems and structural glassy components for ...

Research on shale dynamic and static elastic modulus and anisotropy based on pressurization history

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The dynamic and static elastic parameters of rocks exhibit differences. It is of great practical significance to carry out experiments on dynamic and static elastic parameters of rocks under reservoir conditions and determine the conversion relationship ...
