Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Dynamic Behavior Identification of Cavitating Flow
Studying the behaviour of supercavitation from the energy aspect can be divided into two sections. Studying the behavior of supercavitation in the flow field and in vicinity of the flow field. A large portion of field energy is kept in the field, and the

The minimum cost multicommodity flow problem in dynamic networks and an algorithm for its solving [PDF]
The dynamic version of the minimum cost multicommodity flow problem that generalizes the static minimum cost multicommodity flow problem is formulated and studied.

Dynamic air/liquid pockets for guiding microscale flow
Fouling of solid surfaces is a problem when designing microchannel systems for applications such as bioassays and drug delivery. Here Hou et al. propose a way to overcome this issue by controlling fluid flow by means of an immiscible functional liquid ...

Numerical Simulations of a Gas–Solid Two-Phase Impinging Stream Reactor with Dynamic Inlet Flow
Fluid flow characteristics and particle motion behavior of an impinging stream reactor with dynamic inlet flow (both inlet velocity patterns exhibit step variation) are investigated and discussed with the computational fluid dynamics–discrete ...

Large-eddy simulation (LES) is used to simulate neutral turbulent boundary-layer flow over a rough two-dimensional sinusoidal hill. Three different subgrid-scale (SGS) models are tested: (a) the standard Smagorinsky model with a wall-matching function ...

A multi commodity flow model incorporating flow reduction functions
During the transmission of several different commodities from respective sources to the sinks, there may be loss due to leakage, evaporation, or damage. The generalized multi-commodity flow problem on a lossy network deals with the transshipment of these

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Modelling of transient gas-liquid flow and pigging in pipes [PDF]
More and more transient gas-liquid operations in pipes are being successfully applied in the oil and gas industry. Pigging in two-phase pipelines, to remove liquid accumulation or for cleaning purposes, is an important transient operation.

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.
