Hydrodynamic Self-Consistent Field Theory for Inhomogeneous Polymer Melts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We introduce a mesoscale technique for simulating the structure and rheology of block copolymer melts and blends in hydrodynamic flows. The technique couples dynamic self consistent field theory (DSCFT) with continuum hydrodynamics and flow penalization ...

Flow dynamics and haemostasis.

open access: yesAnnali dell'Istituto superiore di sanita, 2007
Fluid-dynamic conditions that are compatible with tensile stress on the bonds between platelet glycoprotein Ibalpha and immobilized Von Willebrand factor A1 domain (VWF-A1) led to Ca++ release from intracellular stores (type alpha/beta peaks), which preceded stationary platelet adhesion. Raised levels of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and cyclic

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

ARBITRARY INTERACTION OF PLANE SUPERSONIC FLOWS [PDF]

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики, 2015
Subject of study. We consider the Riemann problem for parameters at collision of two plane flows at a certain angle. The problem is solved in the exact statement.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Time Can Flow in the Opposite Direction of What We Think It Does

open access: yesProblemos
Attitudes towards the future and the past differ. This difference seems easy to explain if time actually flows, and thus, has an intrinsic direction. At first, this appears to be an advantage of the dynamic view of time, according to which time really ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Welfare Flows and Caseload Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Economics, 2007
Data from the 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993 and 1996 panels of the Survey of Income and Program Participations are used to estimate AFDC/TANF entry and exit rates. These estimates of AFDC/TANF entry and exit rates are used to conduct simulations aimed at determining the roles of economic conditions and welfare reform in explaining AFDC caseloads changes ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.
