Nonlinear dynamics of dry friction
The dynamical behavior caused by dry friction is studied for a spring-block system pulled with constant velocity over a surface. The dynamical consequences of a general type of phenomenological friction law (stick-time dependent static friction, velocity dependent kinetic friction) are investigated. Three types of motion are possible: Stick-slip motion,

INFORMATION FRICTIONS AND HOUSING MARKET DYNAMICS [PDF]
I examine the effects of seller uncertainty over their home value on the housing market. Using evidence from home listings and transactions data, I first show that sellers do not have full information about current period demand conditions for their homes.

Na‐ion batteries ‐ Impact of doping on the oxygen redox: The sloping potential of NaMg0.1Ni0.4Mn0.5O2 above 4.0 V is caused by a new redox center (arising from the ‘O bound to Mg’), having a higher potential but being more irreversible compared to the ‘O bound to Ni’.

Efficiency and marginal cost pricing in dynamic competitive markets with friction [PDF]
This paper examines a dynamic general equilibrium model with supply friction. With or without friction, the competitive equilibrium is efficient. Without friction, the market price is completely determined by the marginal production cost.

Dynamical Friction. I. General Considerations: the Coefficient of Dynamical Friction.
In this paper it is shown that a star must experience dynamical friction, i.e., it must suffer from a systematic tendency to be decelerated in the direction of its motion. 'This dynamical friction which stars experience is one of the direct consequences of the fluctuating force acting on a star due to the varying complexion of the near neighbors.

In situ monitoring of bulk photoalignment reveals how molecular weight, azobenzene content, cooling rate, and thickness govern ordering in main‐chain liquid crystalline polymers. Optimized copolymers exceed conventional thickness limits, maintaining stable alignment up to 130 µm with high energy efficiency and reversible optical patterning.

Spectrally Tunable 2D Material‐Based Infrared Photodetectors for Intelligent Optoelectronics
Intelligent optoelectronics through spectral engineering of 2D material‐based infrared photodetectors. Abstract The evolution of intelligent optoelectronic systems is driven by artificial intelligence (AI). However, their practical realization hinges on the ability to dynamically capture and process optical signals across a broad infrared (IR) spectrum.

Mathematical Model of the Evolution of a Simple Dynamic System with Dry Friction
A simple dynamic system with dry friction is studied theoretically and numerically. Models of systems including dry friction are not easily obtained, as defining the relationship between the friction force and the relative velocity presents a significant
