Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Rock Hardness Identification Based on Cutting Motor Current of Roadheader

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan, 2020
It is difficult to monitor the cutting load directly during the driving process of roadheader for rock tunnel, which leads to the problem that the cutting speed and swing speed cannot be adjusted in time to adapt to the rock hardness change.

Ontology‐Aligned Structuring and Reuse of Multimodal Materials Data and Workflows Toward Automatic Reproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Reproduction of stacking fault energy calculations from literature with a semi‐automated large language model‐assisted extraction procedure: extraction of simulation protocol, atomistic structures, computational parameters, and reported results, ontology alignment, knowledge graph construction and, finally, recomputation forvalidation.

Hardness of Dynamic Core and Truss Decompositions

open access: yes
The k-core of a graph is its maximal subgraph with minimum degree at least k, and the core value of a vertex u is the largest k for which u is contained in the k-core of the graph. Among cohesive subgraphs, k-core and its variants have received a lot of attention recently, particularly on dynamic graphs, as reported by Hanauer, Henzinger, and Schulz in

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

MODELING OF IMPACT CONTACT OF INDENTER AND NON-RIGID STEEL CONSTRUCTIONS DURING MEASURMENT OF HARDNESS

open access: yesВесці Нацыянальнай акадэміі навук Беларусі: Серыя фізіка-тэхнічных навук, 2018
The problems of measuring hardness of constructions with insufficient rigidity by the dynamic indentation are discussed. The disadvantages of the existing dynamic hardness testers are described, the operation of which consists in impact indentation and ...
