Vehicle dynamics with brake hysteresis [PDF]
This paper studies hysteresis of vehicle brakes and its influence on the vehicle dynamics. The experimental investigation clearly shows the non-linear and asymmetric characteristics of hysteresis of the disk brakes in passenger cars. A computational model of the brake mechanism with hysteretic elements, based on the Bouc–Wen method, is developed and ...

Orientational hysteresis in swarms of active particles in external field
Structure and ordering in swarms of active particles have much in common with condensed matter systems like magnets or liquid crystals. A number of important characteristics of such materials can be obtained via dynamic tests such as hysteresis.

MATHEMATICAL MODELS OF HYSTERESIS (DYNAMIC PROBLEMS IN HYSTERESIS) [PDF]
This research has further advanced the current state of the art in the areas of dynamic aspects of hysteresis and nonlinear large scale magnetization dynamics. The results of this research will find important engineering applications in the areas of magnetic data storage technology and the emerging technology of “spintronics”. Our research efforts have

Ginzburg--Landau Vortices: Dynamics, Pinning, and Hysteresis [PDF]
There are considered three problems related to the mathematical theory of vortex phenomena in superconductivity based on the Ginzburg-Landau models. First, it is studied the long-time behaviour of solutions to the time dependent Ginzburg-Landau equations.

Objective This study examined the global and regional temporal changes in cross‐country inequalities of site‐specific osteoarthritis (OA) burden from 1990 to 2021. Methods Age‐standardized years lived with disability rates (ASYRs) for site‐specific OA across 204 countries and territories were obtained from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and ...

Adaptable Tile‐Based Pneumatic Origami through Structurally Coupled Localized Actuation
This article presents tile‐based pneumatic origami structures with rigid tiles and flexible fabric creases, achieving adaptable properties including morphing shape, selective multistability, and tunable stiffness. Independently pressurized folding bladders at each crease enable structurally coupled localized actuation of origami structures.

An Inkjet‐Printed Platinum‐Based Temperature Sensing Element on Polyimide Substrates
An inkjet‐printed, meander‐structured, nanoparticle platinum‐based resistive temperature sensors on polyimide substrates are demonstrated as proof‐of‐concept. Optimized sintering at 250°C enables stable conductive structures. The Pt100‐ and Pt1000‐type sensors exhibit linear resistance–temperature characteristics with stable TCR in the 20°C–80°C range,

Loss separation for dynamic hysteresis in magnetic thin films
We develop a theory for dynamic hysteresis in ferromagnetic thin films, on the basis of the phenomenological principle of loss separation. We observe that, remarkably, the theory of loss separation, originally derived for bulk metallic materials, is ...
