Identification of dynamic textures using Dynamic Mode Decomposition [PDF]
Dynamic Textures (DTs) are image sequences of moving scenes that present stationary properties in time. In this paper, we apply Dynamic Mode Decomposition (DMD) and Dynamic Mode Decomposition with Control (DMDc) to identify a parametric model of dynamic ...

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Active mode subclock power gating [PDF]
This paper presents a technique, called subclock power gating, for reducing leakage power during the active mode in low performance, energy-constrained applications.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Non-linear discrete-time observer design by sliding mode [PDF]
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University, 09/02/2007.Research into observer design for non-linear discrete-time systems has produced many design methods.

Dynamic mode decomposition of extreme events [PDF]
Most data-driven methods, among them Dynamic Mode Decomposition (DMD), focus on analysing and reconstructing the average behaviour of a system. However, the primary interest often lies in the anomalous behaviour, known as extreme events.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
