Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Indoor Dynamic Environment Mapping Based on Semantic Fusion and Hierarchical Filtering

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information
To address the challenges of dynamic object interference and redundant information representation in map construction for indoor dynamic environments, this paper proposes an indoor dynamic environment mapping method based on semantic fusion and ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Reference-less detection, astrometry, and photometry of faint companions with adaptive optics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We propose a complete framework for the detection, astrometry, and photometry of faint companions from a sequence of adaptive optics corrected short exposures. The algorithms exploit the difference in statistics between the on-axis and off-axis intensity.

Investigation of the Road Noise Source Employing an Automatic Noise Monitoring Station

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2008
The paper presents a pilot investigation of noise source models in two selected localizations in the context of future dynamic noise map creation. The experiments were carried out using the automatic noise monitoring station engineered at the Multimedia

Ordering Protein Contact Matrices

open access: yesComputational and Structural Biotechnology Journal, 2018
Numerous biophysical approaches provide information about residues spatial proximity in proteins. However, correct assignment of the protein fold from this proximity information is not straightforward if the spatially close protein residues are not ...

Accuracy of the Dynamic Acoustic Map in a Large City Generated by Fixed Monitoring Units

open access: yesSensors, 2020
DYNAMAP, a European Life project, aims at giving a real image of the noise generated by vehicular traffic in urban areas developing a dynamic acoustic map based on a limited number of low-cost permanent noise monitoring stations.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

An Anomalous Noise Events Detector for Dynamic Road Traffic Noise Mapping in Real-Life Urban and Suburban Environments [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2017
One of the main aspects affecting the quality of life of people living in urban and suburban areas is their continued exposure to high Road Traffic Noise (RTN) levels. Until now, noise measurements in cities have been performed by professionals, recording data in certain locations to build a noise map afterwards.
