Dynamic models in fMRI [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Most statistical methods for assessing activated voxels in fMRI experiments are based on correlation or regression analysis. In this context the main assumptions are that the baseline can be described by a few known basis-functions or variables and that

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Mapping Bioprocessing Dynamics and Noise at the Single Cell Level using Microfluidics [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 2015
In cell-bioprocessing, the central metabolism is shunted towards the production of specific macromolecules. Through novel metabolic engineering strategies, this bioprocessing paradigm has found widespread applications in disease therapy and the production of organic compounds. Due to the large copy-numbers of products and metabolites, bioprocessing has

Randomized Dynamic Mode Decomposition

open access: yes, 2019
This paper presents a randomized algorithm for computing the near-optimal low-rank dynamic mode decomposition (DMD). Randomized algorithms are emerging techniques to compute low-rank matrix approximations at a fraction of the cost of deterministic ...

A High-Fidelity Star Map Simulation Method for Airborne All-Time Three-FOV Star Sensor Under Dynamic Conditions

open access: yesRemote Sensing
To address the lack of reliable test data for evaluating star sensor performance in dynamic airborne environments, this paper presents a high-fidelity star map simulation method for all-time three-Field of View (FOV) star sensors.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Setting Method of Downsampling Factor and Grid Factor for NDT Relocation Algorithm in Dynamic Environment

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Normal Distribution Transform (NDT) algorithm plays the role of detecting the relative pose of the vehicle in high-precision map. In this paper, a method of setting downsampling factor and grid factor for NDT relocation algorithm in dynamic environment ...

Differential regulation of ZFAS1 splice variants by endoplasmic reticulum stress in hepatocyte cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ZFAS1 is a lncRNA promoting cell proliferation and migration, exhibiting high expression in various cancers. It is conserved, widely expressed, and produces multiple splice variants with unclear roles. We identified several splice variants in hepatocyte models, and found that inhibiting or suppressing regulators of the unfolded protein response (PERK ...

An Algorithm for Local Dynamic Map Generation for Safe UAV Navigation

open access: yesDrones, 2021
For safe UAV navigation and to avoid collision, it is essential to have accurate and real-time perception of the environment surrounding the UAV, such as free area detection and recognition of dynamic and static obstacles.

Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...
