Dynamic Performance of a Frequency Controller
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1980A simple first-order digital frequency controller, based on a voltage-controlled oscillator, is both described and analyzed. Experimental results of the dynamic response of the controller confirm the theoretical predictions. In particular, it is shown that by appropriate adjustment of the loop gain, synchronism may be achieved in one sample period ...

Performance Standards in Dynamics
Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 1977A method to evaluate the performance of dynamical systems governed by ordinary differential equations is presented. It is based on averaging functions describing system behaviour (e.g. velocities) over prescribed domains (e.g. surfaces) in phase space. Quantitative measures of motion are introduced to indicate e.g. how oscillatory or how monotone would

GENTPJ model dynamic performance
2017 IEEE 30th Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (CCECE), 2017This article analyzes the generator direct axis open-circuit time constants in GENTPJ model used for power system dynamic simulations. Theoretical analysis and computer simulation results have revealed a deficiency in the GENTPJ model time constants which affects the simulated dynamic performance of the synchronous generator.

Multiprocessor performances for dynamic programming
Microprocessing and Microprogramming, 1990A new generation of microprocessors called transputers provide support for multiprocessing and communications. This paper compares performances obtained with different processors (68000 μP, signal processors, transputers) in single and multiprocessor configurations for a typical dynamic programming application.

Predicting Computer Performance Dynamics
2011Traditional approaches to the design and analysis of computer systems employ linear, stochastic mathematics--techniques that are becoming increasingly inadequate as computer architects push the design envelope. To work effectively with these complex engineered systems, one needs models that correctly capture their dynamics, which are deterministic and ...

Optimizing dynamic performance scaling for user interface performance
Proceedings of the International Conference on Mobile Technology, Applications, and Systems - Mobility '08, 2008In this paper we introduce a novel approach for measuring and estimating effect of performance scaling for user interface latency and power consumption. Growing demand for higher performance in battery powered devices such laptop PC's has spawned techniques for dynamically decreasing performance in order to save energy and yet preserve high peak ...

Dynamic Performance Tuning Environment
2001Performance analysis and tuning of parallel/distributed applications are very difficult tasks for non-expert programmers. It is necessary to provide tools that automatically carry out these tasks. Many applications have a different behavior according to the input data set or even change their behavior dynamically during the execution.

Dynamic performance profiling of cloud caches
Proceedings of the 4th annual Symposium on Cloud Computing, 2013Large-scale in-memory object caches such as memcached are widely used to accelerate popular web sites and to reduce burden on backend databases. Yet current cache systems give cache operators limited information on what resources are required to optimally accommodate the present workload.

Optimal Performance of a Firm in a Dynamic Market
IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 1977The problem of optimal dynamic transition of a firm with market power from a predetermined initial condition to a known statically optimal equilibrium state is formulated. The model of the firm is linear, discrete time, and behavioristic in nature with production, demand, inventory, and order and sales sectors. Prices and changes in the production rate

Performance‐driven dynamic service selection
Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, 2014SummaryModern software systems are increasingly built by integrating different services implemented by independent organizations and offered in an open service marketplace. In such environment, multiple providers may compete with each other by publishing services that provide the same functionality, and export the same interface, but differ in the ...
